how will the interchange effect teams & players only having 3 players on the bench this year. with 1 sub on the bench. if ur teams winnig by a big margin, team might bring of there star player!! with the sub rule, the player cant go back on!!! can the sub go on for blood rule?

Barlow 21

No they cannot go on for the blood rule. Will make DT/SC more interesting. ;D

how do you think the reduced interchange will affect scoring??? more time on ground for players. im not really sure some ppl may have a better idea than me but im thinking maybe key position players wont be rested at all. and the midfielders will rotate through the bench. this could mean more points for key forwards??? riewoldts brown pavlich??? or perhaps the rotations may stay the same as the last few yrs with even rotations throughout the team and maybe midfielders rotating to forward pocket for a rest instead of 4th bench spot???

i think this is gunna be real important for picking teams because you might be able to snare a few players who will increase there avg due to less rotations on the bench and more time racking them up on the field.

wat are ppls thoughts on this? could be the diff for the hilux i reckon if you get it right

I agree RH35. I feel the Deep Forwards/Backs won't be on the bench as much as they use to as they need to keep the rotations up. Midfielders will get tired out with the fast pace of the game so can either see them be rested up forward (Gary Ablett-esque) or be rotated on bench in little spells (more Swan type players for short bursts).

It's the sub rule which seems to be the biggest question. 1 less player on field could lead to a tired out Star to be taken off in the 3rd quarter for the sub which could be horrid for scores (from what they could of possibly been). It'll be important to choose players who are locked in the side, not on the fringes = subs (likely options). Not sure if they'll name subs with the teams but hopefully they do.

But I believe the rule could be quite good if an injury comes by for the teams on the day.

i would be thinking they would save the sub for an injury at least until the 4th quarter , will mean picking captains that wont get subbed

The question is will they annonce with the teams which player picked is the Sub?

That is the main one as then makes it a slight easier to work around IMO

DamoBeard

is there a chance that teams dont even use there sub sat all  i can see games where coaches dont use there subs untill late in the forth quarter because u dont want to user your sub at the start of the third just to have a player injured five minutes later then be left with only 2 interchange players

Chopps

it happens now anyway thats the point is teams are disadvantaged by a injury as they cant keep up rotations so i dont think it will change anything

subs wont be announced until 45 mins before the game, four interchange named on thurs/fri. makes it really interesting
