I currently have Anthony as my 4th mid but have been seriously considering Sidebottom for that spot also as he seems primed to really step up again this year.

Anybody have a preference between the two? if so, why?

Is it a concern to have sidebottom & swan  in the same midfield considering the byes in place this year? That's my only issue with bringing Sidey in.

cheers :)

Anthony of the 2... scores a little more

If you set up your side with decent MPP you'll have a large number of players that can cover for 2 Pies in the mids.

I have several guns I can bring into the mids for my bench rooks in the mids...

or I can bring in other rooks to the mids for other mid bench rooks, in case what I have there isn't enough...

I have a total of 5 rookies which I can play in the mids on my benches at the moment.

One from fwds and one from backs which I can swap into the mids..
+ Sylvia and other guns in the fwds, Goddard and others in the backs.

If you only have 2 pies there you should be able to cover provided you set your team up well enough.

I'm going with Pendles AND Swan this year in the mid

Anthony for me aswell.

I would take Wellingham ahead of Sidebottom. But go with your gut, it would be a good unique if you were to hit with him.

the roos should finish in the top 8 this year as this is the best team i have seen for nearly 10 years.  Anthony shouldnt pick up too much of a tag as he is more a ball machine than a damaging player. Harvey and Swallow should pick up a tag before him and possibly some others. The only probelm could possibly be the roos actually have some decent midfields players now so he might not get as many touches (so look at it in the NAB)

another vote for Anthony - though I would've strongly considered Sidebum as a forward but the powers that be decided against that ...

sidebum was a lock for me until they took his MPP away  >:( but as a mid only anthony is a better pick up

Windigo

Liam Anthony.

Steele?

No way. He may step up. He always get's easy goals. That just pisses me off.

But he has good mids around him too. Swan, Pendles and Ball.

Anthony and Swallow are the future for the Kangas.

Sidebottom as Anthony gets injured for one and 2. Sidebottom doesn't have to get his own ball so even if he's not in and under he will find it and uses it properly and hits targets alot more than Anthony

@ burner

efficiency isnt my issue as this is a DT thread lol and i wouldn't say that Anthony is a genuine in and under player at all, he often receives handballs on the run and will find space to link up with other players.

atm my midfield stands as follows:

Swan, Boyd, Pendlebury, Anthony, D Swallow, Gaff   - fairly content...for now lol

thats a bit harsh on anthony, his shoulder injury was a freak accident and probably shouldnt casue any fututre hassle. Anthony is more an accumulator than an in and under player and hitting targets is bad for DT as it just means he is more likely to get tagged (this isnt supercoach)

Then it's an easy decision then, Just go for all the accumulators, Lets hope anthony doesnt get bumped, once ya shoulder goes 1st time its suspect for your career

no contest
it has to be anthony
