Below is the squad for the first round of the NAB Cup.

Dane Swan, Alan Didak, Travis Cloke, Nathan Brown, Tyson Goldsack and skipper Nick Maxwell will miss while the Blues have Judd missing as well. Richmond are resting big names Jack Riewoldt, Brett Deledio, Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin and captain Chris Newman.

You'd think the Pies would win. But preseason, you never know. Missing our captain, our CHF and arguably 2 best players is a bit of a loss.

Guessing Pendles is captaining.

No Nathan Brown, no Tyson Goldsack... So Ben Reid is our sole defender that can play on larger bodied opponents. I guess we are experimenting our depth once again playing some recent years pick ups from the drafts.

One thing I am happy about though is Pendles having a run around as Captain. Will be good experience for the bloke as I think he will probably take over next year... Providing he stays with the Pies.

Chris Tarrant Shaggy! He's back :)

Boomz

I'm interested to see how Keeffe goes...

I skipped right over Tarrant actually. Still see him as a forward when its in a Collingwood side lol So thanks for reminding me. My mind was in over-drive thinking about who it could be.

I'm also looking forward to seeing Hunter going at it, affter a series of injuries. Also young Fasalo and Seedsman.

Goldsack to Seedsman, who kicks a bullet straight at Sidebottom, Golden Commentary.

I see no Brad Dick though. :<

No Brad Dick is a little disappointing.

It will be very interesting to see where Tarrant plays. We all know he still can't kick for goal, I reckon he is the Presti fill in. Reid, Brown and Tarrant competing for the two spots, a nice luxury to be in.

gayyyy i would have loved to see lids, didak and swannie in action. i assume it is just resting of swannie and lids and dids is still recovering from shoulder surgery.

I'd like to play Tarrant on the wing. He's quick enough, and very few sides would be able to match up on him.

That's an interesting theory! Like Richo did a few years ago. Requires some thought!

Went to the Melbourne Heart game tonight & saw online the Richmond bubble burst in a flash. Back home now watching the Pies do Carlton, normal service resumed.  ;D

Richmond didn't have Deledio, Newman, Riewoldt, Martin or Cotchin. So desperate they had JAKE KING as captain.

Haha, it is quite amusing :P
I think they should have played Martin, he has struggled a bit with fitness this pre-season so he needs to play games...
