I've got 150,OOO left over and obviously need to do something about my RUCK bench. Do i have enough depth to avoid NON-SCORING players this season? Not sure about Aaron DAVEY, ADCOCK, BRENNAN and THOMAS. Any advice would be great!

imo youve loaded up on too many mid priced players all around the board. theres plenty of cheaper players that should score solid and play all 22 rounds (barring injury of course)..
houlihan, higgins, raines, malceski, swallow, jess smith, etc all come to mind.

id suggest downgrading a few to players like this, and spending the free'd up $$ to get some more premiums.

it's not that difficult to get 12-13 premiums in a well balanced side, alot of good options this year =).

username

thanks fyfebe...good advice, however i have higgins, malceski... don't know anything about raines, swallow and jess smith. I'm not especially knowledgable when it comes to many afl teams. I'll continue researching i suppose. What price range do you consider someone a premium? Who is good value?

fyfebe

ideally you're looking for atleast 3 premiums in each area (bar ruck ofcourse), 450-500k+ i'd say... goddard, gilbee, s fisher, newman, pratt, c cornes up back are good examples

an example backline can be;

goddard, newman, cornes (ur 3 premiums), malceski, raines, houlihan (ur midpriced/cheapies), and hill (ur rookie)

not sure of all the bargains this year, theres a few articles written up with nice selections, aswell as posts in the player forums.

a few i can remember are skipworth, reilly, hasleby, raines, houlihan, smith, l fisher, lucas, swallow, etc

get rid of firrito and NLM for a start!

not supercoach players at all

try and get some players from top 8 teams in there like x.ellis, maybe raines.
Need more stars to many mid-priced players.

THANKS FOR THE FEED BACK...here is my second attempt (taking into account the sage advice)....

Still some concerns.....

1) depth... do i have enough to cover injuries in each position (want to avoid unnecessary trades and zero scores)?

2) have i chosen good rookies/cash cows (will they play, will they score adequately to enable me to upgrade during the season)?

3) have i spent my money wisely on premiums (will they retain their value and score consistently)?

4) 3rd and 4th ruckmen (spent on cox and ottens in hope they would see me through the season and enable me to avoid $$$ on bench and trades) is this approach a good idea?

much better side 2nd time round.

only thing i can really nitpick at is lovett and gumby in your 22.

ballantyne is injured i think? may not play till round 3-4

might be better off replacing lovett with houlihan, slotting raines into your backline, and slotting yarran into your 22 in place of gumby.

From what i have seen, i see swan as more of a DT player than a SC?

fyfebe

yea he is, i had him in sc last year and he was a consistant 80-120.

username

thanks

so... is that a yes on SWAN...80-120 in sc is a good thing right?

LOVETT? no good in your opinion...why?

keep GUMBY on the bench? everyone seems to think he'll play this season.

very keen on YARRAN...will watch him closely against the kangaroos. will he slot straight into the carlton side (like rioli last year)?

thanks for the tip on ballantyne! and suggestion re: raines & houlihan.

swans a good consistant performer, but there are better options that are a bit cheaper (gibbs especially, hes set for a huge year i reckon)

keep gumby, but i wouldnt have him in the field, slot him on the bench, cant see him putting much more than 30-40 for the first few rounds. yarran will score a bit better imo.

yarran should slot into carltons side, considering their only other small forward option is betts.

and im not a huge fan of lovett, he has his moments but theyre few and far between, really inconsistant. constantly misses games aswell, he's yet to play a full 22 rounds without missing atleast 2-3 games.

fair calls.

changed swan for gibbs (midfield) .....lovett for houlihan & ballantyne for yarran (forwardline).... houlihan for raines (backline) and downgraded vickery for trengrove and upgraded ottens for david hille.

thoughts?

i now have aabout $$$150,000 left over...not sure what to do with it!
where are my weaknesses & who can be upgraded.

also - what are peoples thought on how much leftover $$ (if any) is ideal to keep in the bank for future trades and the like. or should i spend as much as possible from the get-go?
