I believe Melbourne picked him up to be a permanent CHB where he played great footy for Hawthorn when Croad first went down or be a long bomb forward target because they are abit short in that area imo.

I don't buy that either. I think Melbourne's young defense is one of the best in the competition also (as a Pies supporter, they were just about the only team to twice stop Collingwood scoring heavily against them)
