Thomas Lynch (GC)

Summary:
Height: 199cm
Weight: 91kg
DOB: 31/10/92
Club: Dandenong Stingrays (Vic)
Style: Scott Gumbleton

Lynch is a strong-marking tall forward with a terrific work rate and ability at ground level.  He was impressive for Vic Country in the under-18 championships, where he averaged 13 disposals and four marks.

He describes himself as a lead-up tall forward.

Has been compared to Nick Riewoldt due to his pack marking ability, Lynch is said to be a super talent who, along with Day, will hold Gold Coast's forward line in good stead for at least 10 years.

The raw tall forward is a bit of a risk for Gold Coast as he has only played one season of senior footy, but his upside is massive and the Suns had enough picks to take the punt on him.  His great athleticism enables to take screamers and scoop the ball of the turf like a midfielder.

In the U/18 Championships, Lynch was solid, averaging 13 disposals, 4 marks and 1.6 goals a game.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on m0nty's fanplanner

Price: $162,500

Position: FWD

Decision:

Picks 10 and 11 for Gold Coast were picks in which they will only reap the rewards in a few years time.  Lynch has a tad of "project player" status about him, but I think he may pay dividends, however, not this year.  The KPF is very raw and is both unlikely to get games and unlikely to score high in the games he plays.  Unlikely for me.

Will you select Lynch in 2011?

I still think the Forward line could turn out to be anything, preseason watch. But yeah, you're right, KPF take time to develop

Haven't thought im about him at all. Prefer Prestia or Matera over him though. Unlikely.
