Summary:

The Burger!
High draft pick who has just strung his first full season together in 2010, in 09 managed 3 games, 08 had 10 games and in 07 played in 9 games. 204cm, 102kg giant who rucks for the Brisbane lions and will hit 23 years of age in 2011. I’m certain he has learnt a hell of a lot from playing every game in 2010. Can’t say I’ve seen him play heaps but has put some good numbers on the board with 9 games above 80 SC, with 2 being tons. I’ve heard ppl state that he is a next generation dean cox (well when he was drafted in 06 that was stated!), he seems to have good awareness and good decision making skills for a big guy. This season he showed he is durable as he came off a knee injury that finished his 09 season in round 3. Looks like his ruck work improved and was getting some hit outs to advantage and picking up some ball averaging 15 disposals a game for 2010 and getting atleast 10 disposals a game besides 3 games (9, 9 & 6). Averaged 21 hit outs and averaged 4.1 marks a game.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $346,200

Position: RUC

Well I was one of those who started mitch clark at the start of 2010 and was more or less forced to trade him (to sandi), didn’t even expect this guy to string all the games that he did. From what I saw he is a competent player, perhaps needs another year to blossom a bit more.

Decision:

With most fantasy coaches preferring to ‘set & forget’ their ruck division, the burger prob isn’t in that category atm. I think there will be a day that he is in that category with the hmacs, the jollys, hilles, ect. Is it in 2011?? If an average of 64 improved to 84 u would look at that as a dam good result saving yourself a good 100k to 150k depending on which u like. Although picking him, and if he doesn’t improve his ouput would be a waste of a trade esp when u can safely pick a more senior ruckmen for 100k more â€" its prob one of those risks that u don’t need to really take. But I won’t fully dismiss, its an unlikely for me but he is one to keep an eye on, might not be next year but he seems to have the tools.

Great write-up Torress and a Merry Christmas to you!

I'm a little tempted with Lueun, but I must agree with your assessment.

Though DazBurg beat you to it as he has been done :) See first post of sticky

well merry xmas to u too ozstriker!! lol i get the presents and what not over and jump on fanfooty to see whats going on lol!! well i had a bit of a scan last night and didn't see him. well i didn't mean any disrespect i just didn't notice the other write up. i think thats happened a few times anyhow. its all good tho. i'm not going to fully dismiss this guy, could bea great no. 2 ruck at a good buy. but thats a big could, i wanna see how he is going about it first. unfortunately i don't think the NAB will give a good indication on this type of player. unlike other smaller blokes who might get a more lucrative role change, the burger just has to improve and thats all u go on really. kicked only 4 goals, if he shows he has a bigger motor in 2011 that may sway me, but prob will not..

+1 would have to completely, and i mean completely, dominate during the pre-season to get a look in

MajorLazer

Had him for 1 or 2 games last season. My rucks killed me and I will be going for set and forget rucks. Not in my team.
