Jarryd Blair

2010 Stats
Games: 8
Total Score: 676
Average Score: 84.50
High: 133 (Round 13)
Low: 50 (Round 16)
Standard Deviation: 25.26
Centuries: 2 out of 8
Starting Price: $100,200
High Price: $100,200 (round 1)
Low Price: $376,500 (round 22)

Summary:

Premiership Player Jarryd Blair was one of the stories of the year. Made his debut in Round 14, and was Collingwood's only debutant for the year. Turned out to be the perfect late-season rookie downgrade, and an average of 84.50 was outstanding with 2 centuries.

Including finals, Jarryd Blair has now played 12 matches. Of course due to the drawn Grand Final, has now played 2 Grand Finals and won a premiership. Players like Brad Johnson who never got to even play a Grand Final in 360 odd games, must be just shaking his head.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $448,800 (no discount), $403,900 (10% discount)

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $384,600

Position: MID

Well, ouch. Even with a 10% discount (which may or may not happen), Blair is way too expensive. Blair enters his 2nd year, and will be under immense pressure to keep his spot in the line-up if he doesn't keep improving. John McCarthy, Brad Dick, Andrew Krakouer, Leon Davis and Alex Fasalo could all legitimately take his spot.

Decision:

No.

RANT: Like Premiership Player Steele Sidebottom in 2009, Jarryd Blair's finals matches in 2010 means he is ineligible for the rising star yet couldn't get nominated in those finals matches. Doesn't seem fair!

Fletch74

No, too high in price. Nice player though for his size.

nas

Price too high for me & the 2nd year pressure will be there as well as others wanting his spot. No

j959

Had him last year, great mid-season pickup - can't fit him into the team for the coming season cos Swan, Pendles, even A Krakouer all in Pies mid division ... just no room and causes mid-pricer issues

Boomz

Was a great downgrade last year but no way I think he'll be pushed out of the side very early...

MajorLazer

Wish I got him last year. Not getting him this year as I will have Swan and Krakouer.

Junktimer

was good this year, but no way now.

tom_scully

No chance, but was great last year.

MTTY

I think he may find himself on the outer for Krakouer, Davis and MaCarthy

Hawka

way to much and will stuggle to get games togerther i reckon
