Serious error in judgement

For some reason at the start of the season I put Mackie in my side. He looks lost without Hunt and Harley in defence..... you reckon he'll get some consistency back into his game and start scoring?

Hindsight says he was a shocking choice but at the time I thought Geelong would throw the ball around a bit and he'd rack up the touches.

I already have $176K in the bank and am considering getting either Dempsey, Houlihan or Scott McMahon then in a couple of weeks trading whoever I get on for Hodge when his price bottoms out. Leftover cash can be used later on to upgrade rookies.

My forwards, mids and rucks are all looking good but I just need to sort my defence.

IN my eyes, you have 2 reasonable options + a third, pride-demeaning one, and of course keeping him.

In your position, i probably wouldn't trade him- but that is because i have only 16 trades left.

You could hold on to him, and very likely get rid of him next round for a cheap player (namely Broughton) before the price rise.

You could upgrade him to a premium, that HAS NOT played at their peak (NOT goddard etc), someone like GIlbee or PRatt, or even Bowden.

The third option is swallowing your pride and trading him for HOulihan or hurn or gilbert.. something i am not inclined to do after not getting them at the start of the year.

only problem with holding onto Mackie for another week is that he'll drop in value at least this week to around the $400K mark, even if he pulls out a 120 pointer.

Rest of my defence is Drummond, Gilbert, Sam Fisher, Enright, Rance, Cheney, Raines and Broughton. Will be keeping Cheney, Rance and Brougton to give their value a chance to rise and decided a while ago I'd stick with Raines through his injury.

With 18 trades left I am not against doing a sideways trade this week to get Hodge in another week or 2 whilst keeping some coin in the purse. I'm more just wanting to know whether I'm on the right track there.

k yeah that sounds about right- if your really worried, you should do a double trade to fit hodge in your team-- IF it suits and is uselfull otherways- you should postyour whole team for people to have a look
