Yup Ruckus, will try doing the same myself.

Not gonna be fun to be around in September....

Alex7089

dedication to both! I have never traveled more than 4 hours to get to a game :o

I agree although I find it challenging travelling the 3km to the G or the 800 metres to see the reserbces play at Vic park. I'll repeat "800m", that is dedication, it takes a good 4 minutes, up to 5 into a headwind.

Ruckus

some people just get it too easy!
We dont even get a Collingwood game on the TV if FOX have the rights to a Port or Adelaide game at the same time. The Port/Adelaide game is showed delayed on free to air, rather than showing the game they have the rights to. Stupid!

That said, although i lived in the UK for about 7 years, it's a little difficult getting to see Arsenal these days. Quite the road trip.

Alex7089

I don't get to go see Chelsea play anymore either :(
Used to love going to watch them play ;)
Yeah bit of a drive ;D

rooattack

i travelled for 2 hrs, into the heartland of crime and poverty,to see Collingwood at Vic Park,in 1993.

What a day!

Alex7089

Rooattack! I assume it scarred you for life.

Alex,it was one of the best days of my life,

Being amongst the scum, watching my team give them an absolute flogging, watching the feral maggies frothing, spiting, spewing with hatred.
Here's something to remind pie fans of our last ever clash at Vic Park

I remember it well, Mick Gafer on Gilbert McAdam.

North supporters were always welcome at Vic Park, all 6 of them who ventured across.  ;)

rooattack

Cruiseon,
There was more than 6 of us that day, probably closer to 20.

And it was Adrian McAdam, probably finished Mick's career that match.

I must admit,i was always treated well at Vic Park, loved having a Jim Beam can or two,and that particular match will remain one of my favorite all time memories.

Adrian, of course, what was I thinking.

Vic Park's bark (and legend) was always worse than reality. I remember regularly taking oppoistion fans who were absolutley sh*ttiing themselves before the game, helped by a few stories from us, only to have a great day win lose or draw.

Real football, real crowds, real passion.
