After the good win on Saturday, we ventured to our local ground which happens to be Vic Park. Beautiful day and there were around 2,000 people, nearly all Collingwood supporters as Melbourne seniors were playing at the same time.

That is about where the good news end. After a good start, the much younger and smaller Casey Scorpions outplayed a side that contained Anthony, Fraser, Medhurst, O'Bree, Wood, Barham, N Brown, McCarthy Rusling & Cook.

So some of my thoughts to pass on.

The main one is, alas, Josh Fraser is gone, finito, its over. He looked lost & I hate to say was actually outclassed. A sad end, if he makes the seniors again he will get pumped.

Then there was Jack Anthony, get this playing the full game at full back! He got thumped, turned the ball over several times. Hard to see him getting back in. Medhurst tried hard but didn't do anything special, although one goal he kicked showed his true class. Rusling still has a long way to go and Barham still can't kick.

The good news, Cook was very good, O'Bree (who I usually prefer out of the side) was probably BOG and Cameron Wood was not bad. Nathan Brown could also step into our defence comfortably if required.
So in summary there is depth but a side with those names should not be losing and the reason they are losing is because most of them are not playing very well. Still with Shaw & Cloke to come back in the list is in good shape.

That is a fantastic review Cruize. Pity about Fraser, would love to see him get 200, but not at the expense of the team.

I'd completely forgotten about Cook. And how did 'recruit of the year' Simon Buckley play?

Cruiseon

I forgot about Simon Bucjly, in fact I had to refer to my record to work out who he was. He semed to play pretty well actually, certainly not amongst our worst.

I like O'bree :'(.

Wood the back up to Jolly? Who's backing up Jolly in the current team now? Brown?

Brown the long term replacement for Presti isn't he ;). Hopefully he can continue to maintain the Legend's scores :P.

sorry boys - fraser is gone unless there is an injury

Jolly and Brown are ahead of him

Cruiseon

CFC that is what I was saying, in fact based on the weekend's performance Wood is also ahead of him.

bunyip

Let the poor bugger play his 200th. What the hell >:(

Cruiseon

I know bunyip, I know. But seriously he really was that poor in the seconds he would be a fish out of water in the one's.

Maybe we'll bring him in for one of our lessor bankable wins....... you know I have to say it......... perhaps against the Cats. Perhaps you can rest Ottens and we'll rest Jolly as a deal breaker.

Maybe they'll give Jolly a rest before finals? Doubtful though. Say if a miracle happens and Collingwood are 6 points clear of 2nd, and we play the lack-of-ruck-division Hawks in round 22. Only way I can see it.
