Hey guys, I'm just wondering what opinions you have on this, would Carlton be a top 4 contender this year if Fev was their full-forward instead of Setanta. O'halpin is still developing and learning AFL but Fev was such is such a better forward. It would be better if the forwardline was Fev and the little helpers, and they often miss that big power forward.
so... Would Carlton be a top 4 contender if Fev was still there?
any response is good, but please no abuse  ;D

First of all no, they would still be ordinary.... too many ordinary players in there. Second of all Fev is still at Carlton in his head. He definitely doesn't have his shower together at Brisbane and as a Brisbane supporter I am bitterly dissapointed with him and Vossy (that hurts, Vossy is a hero)

If Fev was still at Carlton, he'd still be hanging it out at the Cop Shop!

Difficult to answer, haven't watched much of Carlton this year to be honest, due mostly to poor TV coverage here in Perth/ no Foxtel. You'd have to think they would be doing pretty well with the likes of Gibbs, Murphy, Judd, Simpson, Kruezer setting up forward 50 thrusts to a rampaging Fevola.

What has the quality of ball into the forward 50 like from these players been?

Fev may not be as damaging as his prime but he would surely cause a lot of contested ball, leading to crumbing opportunities for Betts, Yarran and co. and even take a strong mark here and there thrown in with a few magic "Fev" goals.

Still couldnt see them top 4 in place of Saints, Geelong, Pies, Doggies.....do i give freo a mention

It's fair to say that Voss was wrong when he thought Fev + JBrown would work. It hasn't BUT while at Carlton Fev kicked so many goals when they were a crap team! 99 when they didn't play finals  8) i reckon they would be better than they are now!

I think Fev and Brown could have worked minus the injuries at Brisbane. Its all in Fev's head whether he has a good game or a showere game. I really don't like his attitude, when Brisbane are losing he doesn't look like he's trying. Add to that Bingle, gambling and a divorce and we may as well be blooding Corneleus this year.

Did anyone else see Vossy put Goose Maguire in the ruck while Mitch Clarke was ruck roving.... useless coaching. and leaving Sauce head on Roughy was ordinary coaching aswell. Rant over

no i really dont think so... as much as he will be reveered once retired as one of our champions i do not miss yelling at the tele for him to chase i do not miss yelling at the tele for him not to drop his head I DO NOT MISS HIM as a supporter of The Carlton Football Club as good as he is he isnt as good as he could be due to "who he is" and i honestly believe he wouldnt have been afforded the opportunities at other clubs to be the way he was with Carlton were it not for our poor situation at the time, his glory days were our dark days

No, but they would be better. I don't think Fev would be lazy at Carlton, he still loves us, he just can't be bothered to play for lions.
