If Gablett goes, assuming he's our highest paid player, wouldn't that leave a bit of room to do some raiding of our own?
Players come up for contract renewal every year.
Would one Gablett equal say.......a Gibbs plus a Beams?
Nobody knows what Gablett gets, but if it's around 7 or 8K a season why can't we get 2 players to replace him?
Or alternatively, 3 or 4 of Gold Coasts high draft picks. That'll stuff 'em.

Got to pay some of the guys who stayed with salary cuts. They are what held the team together and deserve something if Geelong can spare it.

Doubt Gibbs will leave. Got drafted to Carlton during the bad years and now entering some good years. Hard to see him leave now.

Well I'm sure Geelong will need some salary relief, plus young players needing a new contract will obviously ask for more. I doubt Geelong will actually go looking for anyone else tbh, I think they would prefer Draft Picks though.
