Who has used MPP as part of their strategy

ossie85

I have - Tippett/Lobbe has come in handy a couple of times this year.

Also had Ziebell in out of forward line for a bit also.

Blueboys

Had too in DT since my trades are low and injuries.

I have chappy in the mid who I swap in the forward for Ziebell to cover for brown.

Davis forward and Henderson backline as to add extra cover in the forwardline.

It's help me out this year and well worth it!  ;D

Uncle

i certainly have. have mcneil in the guts, also danger, rok, ziebell harvey goodes and pav up forward. danger is on my forward bench so if anyone goes down in midfield i use danger. higgins in for ziebell this week, and hoping to get gram for howlett in the next couple of weeks. i'll then swing gram to defence for farmer (who sits on the mids bench), enabling me to play gram and bench hargrave. i have waite in defence, so at some point i'm thinking about getting jesse ob for gumby, enabling me to use waite as forward cover. then i'll have all mpp/dpp covered!

thatguy

wouldnt you much prefer someone better than gram in your midfield? seems a waste to get a player purely on MPP, especially when there are plenty better options than gram in the mids!

HellYeah

Henderson switching with Grundy has saved me from zeros more than once during J. Brown's absence

I've used the strategy really well but came a gutser when I picked R Murphy (WB). He was listed on this site as F/B but found out the VERY hard way that he was just a forward. I had already picked him then tried to switch him for JWaite and found I couldn't do it. It was one of my very last trades and stuffed my whole season. As in stuffed my chances of finishing Top 100.

Chapman picked as a midfielder has done me well when Higgins was injured.  Allowed me to use Armstrong as sub instead of Gumby

Also Davis/Henderson F/B has come in handy especially with both Brown and Stevie J out.

its laways handy to have some MPPs on your bench i have davis and some supewr cheap fwd/back, giving me great back and forward cover

Yep, Waite and Davis has been a godsend on occasions.

+1 and also Henderson has now become handy as well. The only query I have with MPP is that IMO people are generally trading MPP players in because of their extra value, thus making more teams similar than we've ever had before...

bundyboy

got to say I didn't use it at all this year.

uncle - I'm sure you are right, but gee you have given me a headache explaining it all  ;D

think you need to definately pick the best you can in each position - and if they are MPP that's great, but wouldn't be picking my on field players with MPP as priority to better scoring single position players.

do like the concept of bench players being MPP though..have had many weeks where I haven't had any bench cover at all in some positions - so recon that would be very handy.

will really need to think about MPP in structure and selection for next year! ;)
