If your team won this week how do you think they would have gone if your opposition got 7 goals from 50m penalties?
Talk about killing a contest.

And they were little things >:(.

Man runs off his mark and the guy standing the mark moves in that direction *whistle 50m!!! >:( >:(.

Poor discipline is all it is

bunyip

That's easy for you to say. Your opponent takes a mark and starts moving sideways and looks for someone to kick to, the natural thing to do is move with him. You take one step towards him and he gets a free goal.
Are you telling me that NO Melbourne player transgressed even once.
I hope Geelong gets that umpie if we meet you in the finals and the same thing happens to Collingwood. It wouldn't be a lack of discipline then, you'd be screaming for the umpires blood.
Soft free kicks like that have no place in our game. A player can get his head pulled off and just gets a free kick, it's bullsh.

I critisise the umpires all the time, but I never blame umpires for a Collingwood loss. Don't care how bias or incompetent they are, the better teams always win - and if 2 teams are very close then it is basically luck of the draw anyway.

People always say 'team A scored this goal because of umpires therefore we should have won'. Always assuming that if that goal hadn't been scored, the rest of the games outcome wouldn't have changed. Completely ignoring momentum, confidence, and just basic variability.

Whose to say that if one of those 7 50m penalty goals didn't happen, it wouldn't have caused Jobe Watson to do his knee in the next play?

bunyip

I agree, but there were 7 penalties imposed. Don't try to tell me that that didn't influence the game.
According to Geish on TV ALL the decisions were technically correct, but as I said not once did Melbourne infringe. Come on!!!! They were watching Essendon because of what Watson said last week on TV. (I forget the name of the show)

Justin Bieber

Melbourne were better on the day and deserved the win.

Guess being rookie umpires they deserve a chance? It was one's first game and another who had only officiated 20 matches before. They gave out 6 between them :-\.

bunyip

You give in to easy Helly. Where's your backbone? Give 'em hell. You don't have to be fair, you don't even have to be right, just SOUND right. Got it. ;D

Justin Bieber

If I get to meet them, thats a whole different story ;D.
