How did Barry Hall get off? Maybe the MRP showed their human-side with a touch of sympathy? quite staggering really though.

Barry Hall has received an overwhelmingly symphatetic response from the public following his misconduct report on Saturday. But few of us expected that sympathy to extend to the Match Review Panel who raised more than a few eyebrows when they determined his sanction on Monday night.

Hall’s actions have been widely discussed, especially in light of the provocation from North Melbourne defender Scott Thompson which triggered his reaction.

I thought it was the right decision.  What else was he supposed to do?  The umpires were definitely not calling free kicks his way (which according to the rules should have been payed)

He got off, he deserved to get off. He should have been suspended for the 2005 GF though!

Didn't deserve to get weeks unless Thompson ended up in hospital ;D.

He was being targetted by the Roo's guys and what was he suppose to do? Crawl up in the goal square? He did what any man would do, stand up for themselves.

Deserved the fine for getting Thompson in a headlock. I'm more suprised in the fact 4 other Roo players came and still couldn't get him off :P

LOL why is he going to get weeks. 3 North players all over him then another couple come and then 30 secs later BRENNAN STACK finally gives him a bit of backup. Doggies no sense of teamwork. Didn't deserve weeks.

I reckon Thompson should have been fined for starting it. Pushing guys over while they're doing up their laces is school yard stuff.

Grow up! Hall deserved to get off, if he got games it would've been an a joke.
