Remember last year, both the Saints and Cats rested guys, not because they had to, but because they could.

They had locked in top 2 spots and they decided to rest their guns to preserve them for the finals.

You'd be crazy to think this wasnt going to happen again. Both in top 2 spots and not looking like losing those positions, unless Collingwood beat Geelong coming up in a couple of weeks.

Magpies are only half a game behind both, HALF a game. One slip up and top 2 could be gone. Not that 2nd or 3rd really means much given it'll be played at the MCG, but still.

Saints rested players last year in Round 19, they were full strength at round 22. Don't want to be screwing around with the line-up just before finals.
