The competition evolves and new things have to be tried. I actually don't like the idea, but it should be given a go if it will solve a few other issues.

I agree ossie, keep things like intra-club matches, cratch pre-season and have a longer season.

There is no way the AFL will axe the pre-season comp

I think they should give it a shot to see how it goes and it will be good for gws to get a taste of it...

In the end, thats probably what they will do Boomz

Axe the preseason.
As much as I love the roll over of the pre-season from summer and at this point I am hanging for any kind of footy on telecast. I have to agree with oz, The pre-season is a crock of shower and players coming up to play the real deal season are only putting their bodies on the line.
One could say it is a chance for rookies to prove their game for the AFL but they can do that in the VFL and practice matches.

This site is all about the DT & SC, therefore pre-season games just mess with our heads on who we should choose for our teams. The minority of top notch premiums do not even play pre-season.

When a rookie looking to be elevated plays in the NAB Cup pre-season and does a grand job of 100+ we tend to get blind sided thinking  ooo ooo this rookie is so farkin good!. But let us not forget the NAB Cup is NEVER the real deal form to extract from.

As for the post in question it does not change anything.

My 2 cents
