We came, we saw, we conquered.

Bad luck guys, you need to bounce back next week.

valkorum

It was a good game.

This is how I rated the game before it started

Played at Subiaco = +1 to Freo
Friday Night = +1 Pies
Big Game Atmosphere = +1 Pies.

Looks like it worked out that way.

ossie85

That's probably fair, except I would say 'Friday Night/Big Game Atmosphere' are basically the same thing.

valkorum

I rate them differently - Pies play big time games (Anzac Day etc) and they also play a lot of Friday night games.  IMO they are 2 different things.

Cruiseon

With all due respect, we play big games every two weeks.

In reality I think we are a much better side than Freo at the moment the problem being is that it is only May!!! The big test is how Freo bounces back the next few weeks.

We have a slightly different problem ahead..... Geelong!

That was my point.  The pies play these big atmosphere game's very regularly where as I could prob count on 1 hand the number of big games Freo have played in 15 years - not counting Derbies and including the 3 finals games we have played. = +1 Pies

The same can be said for Friday night games as well.  We dont play very many of them either = +1 pies

Should be 2 good games for both sides this week.  Pies v Cats at the MCG, Swans v Dockers at the SCG.  I would be a very happy boy if we can pick up the pieces and get a win over there this week.

The Swans are an interesting team, I find they generally fold to the decent teams (in recent times), so if Freo are the real deal, I'd expect them to get up.

valkorum

I agree that the Swans haven't been that good against "top" teams this year.  Hopefully we can touch them up

Cicjose

hopefully we can get back to winning ways but as we are sitting third and our percentage is 119.84 we need to get some more wins by big margins because

the Bulldog's percentage is 119.28 and
Carlton's is 119.18

so we need to win by at least the largest margin between the three teams this weekend.

ossie85

Why? You're a game ahead of both the Dogs and Blues, just by winning you'll stay in front.

valkorum

Exactly what I was going to say Ossie.  If we win we will stay ahead of them because we are a game clear

Cicjose

Yeah but i am still thinking after the Michael Johnson affair that our season will implode

To be honest I dont think Michael Johnson was that valuable on the field (maybe his leadership was) and can be replaced quite easily by Kepler.  The loss of Mundy/Broughton/McPharlin is far more damaging to the team.

Broughton - solid defender and rebounds beautifully
McPharlin - CHB and was part of a great duo with Taz
Mundy - best centre clearance player and very important midfielder.

The devestation through the club would be far more damaging to players than the loss of Johnson, but it may also spur on the team to go out and play like champions and destroy Sydney.
