Why would you not have Martin in the Mids?

@ Ando - Thanks mate. I'm looking at replacing one or the other.

@ Salce - Thanks for the link!!! :D

@ Bjrouse - Because I honestly have never heard of him except for people putting him on his team here. If I haven't heard of him, he's not worth the effort.

Which Martin anyway? Brodie or Dustin?

Hydra

CURRENTLY:

Goddard, Enright, Gram, Hooker, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, O'Keefe, Boyd, Trengove (Shuey, Bastinac)

Clark, Naitanui (Trengove, Prato)

Riewoldt, Giansiracusa, Tippett, Hall, Dangerfield, Ziebell, Gumbleton (Hitchcock, Roberts)

Cash: $46,200

I'm thinking this:

TRADE:
Boyd     >     Barlow OR Banner (Leaves $487,400)
Dangerfield     >     Higgins
Ziebell     >      Gray
Malceski     >     Hodge (Leaves $6,500)

When I went to work out how much I thought each team would average, I came up with exactly the same number (total approximation though) but significantly less cash. Is the extra rookie a good idea or should I keep the premium?

Please rate both teams :)

Cheers,

OK...

Gray is injured. So instead I can put someone else in around the 400-400k area.

Is the idea in general good, or should I keep Boyd, that's what I'm wondering mainly.

Hydra

Changed out Boyd for Barlow, and then bought Hodge, Knights and Brown in exchange for Hooker, Ziebell and Dangerfield. Good? Bad?

Team, please rate!!

Goddard, Enright, Hodge, Gram, Malceski, Hunt, Waters (Maguire, Silvagni)

Ablett, Pendlebury, J Selwood, O'Keefe, Trengove, Barlow (Shuey, Bastinac)

Clark, Naitanui (Trengove, Prato)

Riewoldt, Brown, Giansiracusa, Knights, Tippett, Hall, Gumbleton (Hitchcock, Roberts)

So, 4 starting rookies (including Gumbleton).

Ratings? Thoughts?

Thanks!!

fever

knights is injured. not sure how bad but not playing r1 at least.

backs are fine

mids outstanding

rucks good (can you afford warnock as 3rd ruck?)

dont like gia in forwards. i just dont rate him in SC. but still forwards good too.

I don't have Danger - traded him out.

Knights is injured? I hadn't got around to checking the list on him yet. Thanks for info - will trade him out. Any suggestions? Gray I know is injury-prone as well but he's a fine player.

Some people don't like Giansiracusa but I have faith in the bloke - did great for me last season so I'm gonna keep him I think - and there's not a lot of options at the 400-460k range for forwards. I COULD downgrade to Ziebell and upgrade Malceski.

I'll have a play around and see if I can get Warnock. I traded him out a couple of days ago to make some cash - might be able to get him back.

ando_10

throw gray in for knights gray WILL play.
8.5/10 i reckon put okeefe down forward.
rate mine.

Trades:

Before Round 3: Clark > Sandilands
Before Round 4: Riewoldt > Chapman
Before Round 5: Roberts > Podsiadly
Before Round 6: Hunt > Davis

Notes: Hopefully Gram and Ablett will be back this week :).

I am definitely looking at trading this week. I'm thinking of upgrading Bastinac (who is going nowhere) to a premium midfielder and leaving Trengove as my benchman.

Many of my other rookies will still go up in price a little more this week. The other player I'm looking at trading is Silvagni, who has steadied off.

Possible players to buy:

Mids: Hayes, Swan, Kirk, Ray, Varcoe
Defence: Drummond, Fisher, Hargrave, Bower (I don't like the idea of Grundy...!)
Forwards: Fyfe (Trade Hitchcock out for him? Gumbleton has a fairly secure spot in the Essendon side.)

Any opinions? I'm looking to win this competition. I'm not out of it yet, it's only round 6. After round 1 I was about 6000th, and I have gone up every week including the round I scored only 2097, so it's time to use the cash I have and move up the ranks, in my opinion.

Would not be against a double trade week, and am not scared to downgrade to a new rookie cash cow at this stage of the season. The idea is to get 22 premium players in the team at the end of the season...That's my goal, and I've got 15 trades left to do it in.

So. Rate my team? Rate my strategy? Rate my chances at getting to the top? Give me advice, please. I'm very open to it. Last year I didn't pay enough attention and came around 20,000th. This year, well, the sky is the limit.

Cheers,
Hydra

PS. Chapman was round 6 captain...Sometimes things just work.  ;) ;D

SUMMARY: At this stage the people I am looking at trading out are Hitchcock, Bastinac and Silvagni. Any ideas are appreciated :).

Team:

Backs:
Hodge, Goddard, Malceski, Enright, Waters, Maguire, Davis (Silvagni, Gram)

Midfields:
O'Keefe, Barlow, Selwood, Pendlebury, Trengove, Bastinac (Ablett, Shuey)

Rucks:
Sandilands, Naitanui (Trengove, Prato)

Forwards:
Chapman, Brown, Giansiracusa, Ballantyne, Hall, Podsiadly, Gray (Gumbleton, Hitchcock)

I think this week it is time to trade out Silvagni:

Silvagni (251k) > Chris Newman (485k) looks like a possible trade. Since his first, awful, week, Newman has averaged 106 points. In a side that will be defending all season, Newman could possibly pick up lots of possessions in the Richmond backline.

I also want to trade Bastinac. Possibly next week will be better, as many premium midfielders are very highly priced at the moment, unless someone can name one to buy? Sylvia seems a tad inconsistent.

Finally, perhaps it is worth getting some cash if Hitchcock doesn't play and trading him to Fyfe. Getting Fyfe would probably be great to earn a little bit of cash. With every other one of my players in the forward line except Hall set to rise this week, Hitchcock is the one most in need of trading, though there will only be a 60k gain :(.

I'm thinking a single upgrade of Silvagni this week (Given Maguire is injured although I think Gram will be back!) and then possibly a trade-in for Bastinac (who I think has better job security than Silvagni) either upgrade or downgrade next week.

I still want Fyfe...Should I not want Fyfe? Talk me out of him, haha.
