Who will be this years gun from the 08 national draft?

Last year it was Palmer.
The year before it was Selwood.
What I find interesting is that Selwood and Palmer were both pick 7.
This year pick 7 was Daniel Rich. Is that an omen?
Who do you think will star in their first year?

I must say that I think Rich will get the best numbers and is in my team.
Will also seriously watch Yarran, Hurley, Zeibell, Sidebottom, Swift, Suban and Beams.

There dosnt seem to be too much love for S. Hill (Freo) or H. Hartlett (PtA) at this stage of the season.

The Hill draft @ #3 seemed questionable and Hartlett is returning from shoulder surgery I believe before having to break into a strong and young Port midfield.

I think picking the right midfielder(s) @ $94 K from the beginning will make a huge difference to a teams structure and future trading.

Beams, Davenport and M Robinson are all contenders, although not gauranteed a Rnd 1 berth. Who else at that basement price stands out as being capable of getting games early?

There are always a few smokies that pop up and surprise.
Guys like Wonaeamirri and Wellingham were great bench fodder last year when upgrading mid season last year.
I hope a few of them pop up.
