How to trade cash cows up to Premiums???

My question is this:

How do you do this without using all your trades?.

I will give an example of my situation. I have players like D.Martin, L.Jetta etc that will stop rising in value in the next few weeks (depends on their performances as to when), but given the general consensus of this website that neither are keepers, they need to be upgraded to premiums.

I have $150k in the bank. So lets say I want to upgrade to Judd. In order for me to trade in Martin / Jetta for Judd using only one trade one of them will need to peak at around $400K.

If that where the case, yes I would have another premium player but no cash in the bank to upgrade any other rookie!!!.

So, how do people get around this ???.

My thoughts are that at some point I will need to use trades downgrading bench players, thus freeing up more cash to ultimately enhance my starting team with more premiums.

Example (If I was to trade this week)

OUT

D.Martin - $256,400

In

T. Colyer (ESS) - $94,200

NEW CASH IN BANK $162,200 for upgrade, but another trade used.

Am I on the right track ???

I am a S/C newbie just trying to learn and appreciate your comments.

Are you serious?  Of course that is the only way to do it.

Unless you go to the DT Bank and ask Virtual Sports for a loan.

lol steady on digglers.  dont have a crack at him for askin the question.

when people talk about cash cows and upgrade targets trig they are normally talking about what you described 2nd.  having cash cows on the bench who make money and then can be sold for a rookie to generate cash for upgrading you 'on field' players.  e.g. if you had martin in your team and jetta on the bench you would downgrade jetta to a rook and then spend the money you make on upgrading martin to a prem.

this is what people generally mean when they say the 'double trade'.

as the value of players is directly related to price, you want to increase the 'on field' value of your team as much as possible by finals time.  dont pull the trigger (pardon the pun lol) too early though.  it is not often that you will trade a rook in one position twice for money.

good luck!

Got it in one Trigger.

Use a site like tooserious to give you an idea of when they will be 'fully grown' to use the cash cow metaphor. A simple rule of thumb is to trade out a cash cow when their break even is higher than their average or seemingly unobtainable.

Good luck mate.
