I am requesting you as you seem to have your head screwed on right.
I had Rich starting. Then I got cold feet and went to Liam Anthony (after his good scores of late). I had the option to go back (depending on the announced teams during the "maelstrom") but I used the money to change Collier (in my defence) into Grimes (who I am convinced now could be quite a big thing). Cant go back from Anthony in my mids but I am running scared of Laidley (still have the knife wounds of previous seasons!)
I need one of Anthony, Beams and Robinson to play (actually two as I would like a sub to play). In your opinion, is this all a big risk? Is Grimes really worth it? (already have Hill and Petrenko as benchys). What would Hwks76 do?!!!

Lol
i'd say get rid of grimes for someone like suban or rance. And start hill on in ur 22.
And then get rich as he is a alot safer option the L.Anthony.

Thanks blake2412, your advice is sound. However I am trying to keep Hill as a emerg def only as I am not 100% on his longevity given that he is a skinny rake of a lad. But you are right about Rich v LA. May have to purge someone else me thinks to accomodate D.Rich.

Grimes is definetely worth it. Stick with him.
But your strategy with Anthony, Beams and Robinson is dangerous.
R1 could pose the likelihood that they all play. But what about future rounds?
Robinson looks likely to play for a least two rounds with Stevens, Carrazzo and maybe Grigg missing. But after they all return, his spot in the side looks shakey.
Beams is not far off the Pies best 22, fighting Wellingham for a spot for R1 I think. He should play around 15 games this year at a guess, maybe more if injuries get him a regular jumper.
Anthony, well anything could happen. Mature age, got big numbers at East Fremantle (a la Dalziell ) but Laidley could do anything.
Conlcusion, Beams/Anthony is a good bench duo but you need to re shuffle your line up to get a more reliable #6 mid. There is nothing wrong with getting rookies into your line up but risking 0s is not worth it, especially when you don't have the back up cash to rectify it.

You're right Hawks 76 (premiership captain Don Scott if I remember correctly?). I have a real gut feeling about Grimes that he could score 100's this year on a semi frequent basis and be the pick of the def bunch. May have to dumb down my 2nd ruck (currently Maric to maybe Kreuzer or someone) to get the extra cash. It will still have me only with Daniel Rich but he has the pedigree to be a starter and stayer. If only he had shown more in preseason. I currently have 4 premiums in defence, 3 in the fwds, cox and the "AB" from Geelong so it is a line-up that I am loathe to break up.
