With the umpires placing whistles to their mouths for players who receive possession of the ball and have no prior opportunity they must make an ATTEMPT to release the ball in a legal way. The rule has not changed from last year, however..the umpires are all over it. Having said that umpires always give huge frees when not the rules change but the consequences are different..

Do you all think the umpires will be heavily guarded on this rule or will they do as they have always done and let up over time on previous rule adjustments ?

yorgis

misspies i reckon the umps will ease off over time.what i dont like is when a player gets tackled, incorrectly disposes of it,falls forward and gets a free for in the back

its like every year, the umps go hard on a rule at the beginning of the season and lax off as the season progresses.
