United EurAsia expose AAP Weakness

This was a very even match up going in! As forecasted, AAP had advantages in the defence and midfield and they won these battles. However - also as forecasted - both teams had players (in particular AAP) in the forward line that had potential to chuck in a stinker. And that was the difference - EurAsia had a more dependable forward line and that's exactly what showed.

The other point of difference was JBs gutsy call to name Lachie Neale!

Easing his way back into AFL footy, the 2020 Jim Stynes Medallist has had a disappointing year, only tonning once. His average of 94 ranked 43rd out of all the pure midfielders of the competition! However, JB backed in his history, and boy did it pay off. Lachie Neale not only tonned, but his 156 was a BOG performance and played a VITAL role in EurAsia's victory. An absolutely marvellous call.

AAP got more right than they did wrong - it's just Bailey Dale (50) had a shocker, Walsh (71) got de Boer'd and Langford (72) also had a down match. You could say the rest of the team outperformed EurAsia, but in this game more than any others, you need 15 contributors to win and that's what EurAsia had (with a slight exception to Jack Crisp (79)).

Congrats to JB for notching up his first win as coach of EurAsia! Commerisations to GL whom again showed a steady hand at the wheel in his second attempt.

AAP Alliance (28.6.174) lost to EurAsia (29.6.180)

There is plenty of other stories in this match too - Bontempelli delivering for AAP, Sean Darcy / Nic Naitanui showing up EurAsia Captain Max Gawn, Jack Ziebell continuing his career best form... check out the scorecard!

Also, chart! You can see it was the forwards that was the difference (and Lachie Neale on the bench)
