The AFL did not do us any favours with Gawn, Grundy and Marshall all having the Rd 14 byes so something to conisder with the GG ruck.

Probably not sold with Rozee at F3 but great for you if he breaks out,

Thanks Ringo. The real target of this team is to get one where there are few to zero rookies on the ground. It may be hard just picking bench rookies this year, but hopefully not, The above is very easy to work with. Rozee and Milera can become a rookie and a keeper. Or going the other way I still have the G+G combo to trade down on. This is my "flexible" team, have saved several "guns and roses' and just want to have something already prepared to cover any situation we may be faced with. After the lack of rookie exposure last year we really have little idea of what to expect. Thanks very much for the comments mate, cheers and all the best from "pete the oldfart  " !!

Maybe a little light down back ST but super strong on all other lines. Great side. I've gone Treacy like everyone at R3 for VC loophole. And have Fullarton at F5 for Ruck insurance.. Fagen has hinted we may start Rnd1.

Thanks Ash, I think I'll sit on this one because it gives me a lot of flexibility in any direction. Cheers and best of luck mate.

Really interesting structure, ST. Making me question some of the choices around my own team.

With the premiums, we can all generally agree the most secure line is the Defence. Pretty much all our preferred choices (apart from Whitfield, and Sicily) are good to go. I can therefore see the argument to take the risk with this line, and go for value. You have plenty of 1 trade correction options at all price-points, if you need.

After that it becomes Player X v Player Y, and to my eye your team looks rock solid.

Playing Impey at F6 (as opposed to F5, with a Rookie on the ground), and running with 3 on-field defensive Rookies makes me a little uneasy. But we know each other's thoughts on this from other threads. I get where you're coming from, though.

Witherden is maybe the only selection I personally have't considered. After Hurn retires, I can see him in everyone's team. Maybe a season too early? I prefer Duggan myself, for that value.

Good luck for the season. I'm sure you're going to smash it!

Witherden is an interesting one - my preference would be Duggan rather than Witherden as it look like he will get a good run in the mids with Yeo unlikely to get up for the 1st couple of rounds. https://www.afl.com.au/news/547694/star-eagle-unlikely-for-r1-as-defender-eyes-midfield-switch

That said Duggan SC scores prior to Round 9 2020 have never shown a high ceiling. His averages are:
2017   18   64.9
2018   21   69.1
2019   15   65.0
2020   16   83.5

He appeared to shift to the mids in R9 after Jack Redden was dropped, then stayed with the injury to Yeo
His scores from R9 were 115, 102, 51, 117, 102, 117, 84, 97. Not sure what happened in R13 with the 51

No real indication on the role of Witherden in the team. Hurn would still be the preferred kicker IMO

Guess we look and see after the scratch matches

Have acted on Ringo's cpmment on Ashmore's team re Fullarton. As such Treacy is restored to R.3.  Spicer from M.11 to F.8 and E smith to M.10. Have modified last team
