I guess it's really a matter if you want a GG ruck and rookie forward or take on JZ and G/Preuss ruck

I personally don’t like the JZ pick at all. Think he won’t score as well as people are thinking and has problems with his body.

He’s also priced at 257,900 which with a magic number of 5430 is 24.67 points of value over a 123,900k rookie.

So if he averaged 70 (I don’t think he even gets this) he only breaks even with a 123k rookie averaging 45.

Your paying 100k+ for job security and *maybe* better scoring from a player coming off numerous injuries in a new role. I think the money can be better spent elsewhere.
good points walloo.  JZ only if I am desperate

I agree with most of this, but the amount of times I have gone with a rookie over a player in JZ position and they have been dropped, or average around 30 is incredible - like those Crows chaps last year, Davis, McHenry & McAsey.
They sat on my bench doing nothing and gave me grief for a long time because they had only increased by like 50K

At least with JZ his price is highly unlikely to drop, and his current value makes for an easy $ grab to a rookie on the bubble.

It really depend where Ziebell plays. In the mids, he's a lock. In the forward pocket I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Unfortunately NM will be looking to get centre bounce time into guys like LDU and Phillips which probably means JZ will be up forward again.

Or in the backline where he’ll be a decent cash cow ;)

JZ is just an expensive rookie with job security.
If he doesn't make much cash, can still be a useful enough F7 later in the season if trades are low.

Fwds currently Dunkley, Marshall, Ziebel, Daniher, Impy, Campbell - Macrae, Smith with Cockatoo Durdin Rioli M-F linked.

Surely 1 of the 3 will be near keeper territory.

I’m similar - Danger, Rozee, JZ, Daniher, Impey, Rowe (Durdin, Cockatoo) with Macrae in mids

Too much of a gamble with all JZ, Daniher and Impey?

Yeah I missed where they announced he'd be off half back this year, only read an article about it yesterday. Will be one to watch in the pre-season games to see how he scores, still lots of trepidation about picking a player who's effectively got no scoring history in his new position though.
