Figured I should post my team so I have it recorded somewhere when Sc open this week.

Def: Sicily, Docherty, Doedee, Roberton, S.Hill, Young, (Starcevich, Gould)

Mid: Macrae, Fyfe, Cripps, Dunkley, Coniglio, Rowell, Pickett, Hibberd, (McHenry, Bytel, Mead)

Ruck: Grundy, Gawn, (Conroy)

Fwd: Whitfield, Martin, Steven, Smith, KKP, Cockatoo, (Rankine, M.King)

Bank: $31,600.

Mid premos are nearly 100% locked. D1, F1 and F2 the positions that are up in the air.

Despite both more than likely being top 6 fwds, for some reason, I'm tentative to start both Whitfield and Martin. Whitfield's injuries really worry me (sole reason I'm not starting J.Kelly), and Martin's scoring is a rollercoaster ride.

Heeney is the one I'm really considering as F2.

D1 is out of Lloyd, Williams and Sicily.

I like the team structure. 2 premos, 2 mid pricers in def and fwd, with 2 high pri ed "rookies".

Of your 22 on field we are different on only 4.
Fyfe / Neale      Coniglio / T Kelly     Whitfield / H Greenwood     KKR / Bonar
The rest is identical, I only have $13,600 left but have some high priced rookies for flexibility.
So naturally Hal I like your team.  The Sicily position in defence is still a 3 way option between Lloyd, Sicily and Houston but that can wait until the preseason starts unfurling. Best of luck, cheers.

Structurally wise this is a very similar team to mine so obviously I like it.

I currently have Laird but Sicily with Patton potentially making him a permanent defender is very enticing.

Good team to sit on.

Good team, great structure and I agree with your comments on Whitfield and see him as a risk to be managed.  Injury risk and potential overpayment risk given conigs and ward return to midfield.

Martin will take owners on an up and down ride during the season as this is what he does.  By season end though he will be in the top 2-3 forwards for points and average.  At the moment he is not in my starters.  Good chance he will be by Round 1 though.

Been playing around with different structures, and really like what I've come up with.

Def: Laird, Sicily, Docherty, Hill, Young, Gould, (Starcevich, Rivers)

Mid: Fyfe, Cripps, Dunkley, Dangerfield, Rowell, Stephens, McHenry, Pickett, (Bytel, Mead, Hibberd)

Ruck: Grundy, Gawn, (Conroy)

Fwd: Whitfield, Walters, Martin, Greenwood, KKP, Cockatoo, (Rankine, King)

If I stick with this, it's as close to a true GnR team I've ever started with.

It's obviously totally dependent on rookies and cheapies, but on face vaule, there's 13 keepers which is about what you'd want to start out.

Whitfield's frailty still worries me, but looking at his scores alone, he's too good to leave out. Martin's the other that I'm still a little iffy on. Due to Tigers' game plan last few years, he can throw in a shocker or two in a row and plummet in price, making it easier to trade him in.
