#16
Colorado Avalanche 14.11.95 lost to San Francisco Grizzlies 19.9.123
(Real: 1431 vs 1842)

San Francisco get back on the winners list thanks to having CCs combine for 630 total points (including CC bonuses), not so much thanks to a forward line combining for a total of 178 points. Colorado were the opposite, with their CCs combining for 194 points (including CC bonuses) andd with a midfield all scoring under 75, with Lienert their best player and Maynard doing well against his old club.

Best
Colorado: Lienert, Maynard, Blakely
San Francisco: Coniglio, Heppell, Hill, Viney, Stewart

Boston Terriers 19.8.122 defeated Carolina Panthers 18.10.118
(Real: 1827 vs 1777)

A very close game befitting two premiership contenders, with the home side narrowly scraping over the line both to thanks Bontempelli and Naughton's very underwhelming games to close out the round. The two VCs in Pendlebury and Kelly lead the way for their respective sides (not to throw shade on two solid captain scores in Neale and Grundy), but as usual with Carolina losses just a few too many passengers in the team.

Best
Boston: Pendlebury, Darling, Neale, Laird, Parfitt, Dahlhaus
Carolina: Kelly, Grundy, Martin, McDonald-Tipungwuti

Chicago Sharks 19.8.122 defeated Wisconsin Cockerels 17.8.115
(Real: 1829 vs 1719)

A huge win by Chicago over the ladder leading Wisconsin, maybe Ablett is the much needed ingredient for Wisconsin's success? Gawn was HUGE as Wisconsin captain with 158, but their forward line barely scraped over 200 combined, while usual star Lachie Whitfield was injured and their midfield, which usually contains ~4 scores over 120, only produced a solitary centurion - Mitch Duncan's 101.

Best
Chicago: Parker, Andrews, Oliver, Gaff, Lynch, Sicily, Gaff
Wisconsin: Gawn, Rampe, Daniel, Duncan

New Brooklyn Hawks 20.8.128 defeated Las Vegas Sinners 18.11.119
(Real: 1923 vs 1778)

Chicago may have knocked off Wisconsin, but this NBH effort was the best of the round as they manage a round-leading score despite Captain Cripps being well below his usual best (still scored 89 though because CD are bias as), and with an OOP ruck as well. Fyfe lead the way as Las Vegas skipper but couldn't drag his team over the line, although they still managed a respectable score with Rockliff missing and Franklin well below his best.

Best
Brooklyn: Houli, Parish, B. Crouch, Johannisen, J. Cripps, Brown
Las Vegas: Fyfe, Lyons, Lloyd, Gresham, Hewett, McGrath

Anaheim Mighty Ducks 19.8.122 defeated Quito Quetzals 17.10.112
(Real: 1825 vs 1682)

Anaheim back on the winners list with a comfortable win over a disappointing Quito. Five scores over 120 (and a 119) was huge for Anaheim, while Quito had more passengers than usual with five scorers in the 50s, although Anaheim managed a good score with veterans Mundy and McVeigh and young gun Callum Brown scoring in the 40s.

Best
Anaheim: Hurley, Dangerfield, Burgoyne, Gray, Macpherson, Jones
Quito: Higgins, Hopper, Dunkley, Lycett, Cameron, Worpel

Ottawa Otters 17.11.113 defeated Houston Bombers 17.8.110
(Real: 1700 vs 1646)

It was much closer than they would have liked, but Ottawa have grinded out a much needed victory on the back of a big performance by VC Rowan Marshall. The key difference in the end though was Rory Sloane's injury on 35, with just (in hindsight) a 63 by Sloane required for the win. Tim Taranto wasn't great as Ottawa captain either, but they got the job done and the four points is what matters most.

Best
Ottawa: Marshall, Cunnington, Davis
Houston: Walters, Kreuzer, Ziebell, Hooker, Robinson

The Hawks move level with Wisconsin on points, while Chicago are right below them as the best % of the four teams with 7 wins. Anaheim sneak into the top six at the expense of Carolina, who have scored more points than four of the six sides ahead of them. Quito fall three wins behind sixth spot despite having scored more than Las Vegas and Anaheim, while a San Francisco victory relegates Houston to eleventh.
