Updated side:

Keeps the same structure as the previous iteration, with a few adjustments.

Dunkley's out because I'm not sold that he'll continue his midfield role. Neale, Yeo, Fyfe for Cripps, Cogs, Brayshaw is just adjustments made due to more thorough research and interreupted pre-seasons to Fyfe and Yeo.

A couple of decisions I'm wrestling with:

D2:
Unsure on who to pick. Like Whitfield, had him locked early, but his great year last year was based on him playing HB, which I don't think he'll playing as much of this year. Witherden/Andrews/Ryan all in contention.

M4/5:
All of the following players have been considered for M4 and 5: MCrouch, BCrouch, Zerrett, Zorko, Angus Brayshaw, Miles and Liberatore. Don't like BCrouch as I don't believe he'll average as much as the elite mids come seasons end and would become a weak link. Have gone Libba over Miles due to funds atm, and will be going with at least one of MCrouch, Zerrett, Zorko or Angus Brayshaw, but I'm still not sure which. Also think Cousins should be best 22 at the Hawks this year, and be a good cash cow.

R2:
I've gone against picking Stef based on his interrupted pre-season and the chance that he'll be rested during the year to give Archie Smith a go. Was down to Kreuzer, Westhoff, Gawn based on funds and structure. Kreuzer not playing any JLT has put me off him however, so will be one of Westhoff or Gawn. Didn't originally want to go Gawn, but thinking more about it I think despite it not being likely he'll replicate last year's form, he is still clearly ahead of the next best ruck, and I don't think anyone will bridge that gap.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Looks very solid.
Def: My defence is identical to yours, for D2 Andrews really impressed me last year and he looked back to that form yesterday, I like him more than Witherden just doesn't look consistent enough for my liking yet, although he may prove me wrong during the year. And I can't see Laird not being a top 6 defender whereas Whitfield could be susceptible to the tag at stages.

Mid: Personally I have Libba at M6, as you have an extra fwd premo. I'm not sure how I feel about having both Cousins and Walsh, I think 1 is probably enough, although I can see the appeal due to their JS. Personally I would downgrade one of them to a 150k guy like Butters and upgrade Brayshaw to either Neale or MCrouch.

Rucks: I have the same, Gawn just looks so much better than Goldy/Stef.

Fwd: I like the Kelly pick to be honest, considering it myself but my main thoughts against it are that all 3 premos share the same bye so you'd have to focus on the forward line early which will likely be uncertain for a while, and also that I have much more faith in the 520k mids like Zorko/Sloane than 500k Kelly.

Overall, very nice team.

DEF, RUCK, and FWD our only differences are Harris and Greene vs WitherGOAT and Duursma, every other play is the exact same haha

I feel like you've gone too risky in the mids though. 2 expensive rookies in Walsh and COusins, plus a mid-pricer in Libba, plus Brayshaw as well who will need to take that next step again after last year in order to become premo...I think you'd be better off maybe going Cousins down and Brayshaw up for example. Like, it could pay off, but personally i think it's a lot of risk for little reward.

Southstorm

Nice team SL, working on a very similar structure myself but our only similarities are in the ruck.

Went through a similar predicament with you in the mids, think Libba over Miles is a pretty safe bet but bye preferences could be the best bet in determining who to start with of the rest, all are good picks.

Nice POD in Andrews

Good luck!

Round 3 Update:

Original side had the following adjustments from last update:
Clark --> Duursma
Parker --> Petrucelle
Brayshaw --> M Crouch
Roberton --> Hanley

Trades used:
Balta --> Parker (Round 2)
Hanley --> Moore (Round 3)
Hore --> Scrimshaw (Round 3)

Not a fantastic start to the season, but feel I've made the adjustments necessary to improve the side going forward. Ended up holding Greene and instead dumped Hore who doesn't appear to be getting a game any time soon.
