Picked Rd 1 vs Will play with more talent

Some of the more talented players ie Coffield & Higgins haven’t been picked for Rd 1.

Are people still picking them or just picking players that are playing Rd 1 for points even if they may not be as talented or score as much going fwd?

This is a really good question. I've been wondering the same thing. Do we trust our gut with who we picked as the best rookies, on the assumption that they'll get a game soon and score well when they do...... or do we go with players that are named round one?

Goes the other way with someone like Fogarty for the Crows too. He's named round one, but there's a reasonable chance he'll be dropped when Tex returns.  It's testing that notion of 'a bird in the hand'.

Coffield not being named really stuffed up my structures! He looked excellent in JLT.

Doesn't really apply here since I didn't pick him over someone who is playing but I don't mind spending the tiny bit extra to get Tim English at R3 because he will play at some point.

Second guessing when a player will get a game is fraught with danger all for 20 or 30 points but I suppose R1 is the round to do it in  ;)

I've got Sicily at D3 - could easily put Keeffe at F8 and swing them around to bank Doedee's score, which I am thinking about

F8 would like be Langdon/Ryan/Venables etc, so do I just grab Keeffe considering those rookies will mostly likely be rubbish anyway? Hmmmm

Yep considering Naughton to Coffield to bank Doedee, surely coff gets early games considering the wraps on the young fella.. gotta make a decision soon though
