Hurley over Roberton
Martin or Smith - I am taking Martin as my POD but Smith probably the safest option.
Heeney/Billings for me as Greene may do something stupid and get suspended.
I totaly aggre with you on Toby, last year he lost me 2 or 3 games because he was suspended but I hope he has grown up but really unsure between him and Billings but I still believe Greene is the better player to start with if he has grown up over the summer, guess I will be running the risk.

Hurley. Smith. Heeney and Billings.
Not sure who benefits most from GAJ leaving, but I feel it'd too hard to predict. The Suns still have lots of young mids Brodie,Hall,Fiorini,Weller,Lyons,Miller plus Rosa,Barlow and Rischa.Hanley also when he comes back. Martin is a talent but I don't see GC as anything better than bottom 2/3. SC scorers are usually less in bottom teams. He may get more mid time but is a good half fwd too. Plus early bye.
Bombers have alot of mid options too, but I feel we really need Smith in the mids as much as possible.
Greene has had a more interrupted PS than Heeney and Billings. Plus he will stay pure fwd as he is best used there, GWS mid depth, plus needs goals to score well, plus suspension risk.

Money Shot

Hurley, Smith, Heeney and Billings comfortably for mine.

I am also really tempted by Jack Martin.

Trying to find all info on him, do you think he'll go into mids a bit more?

His really a risk for me and I'm unsure if I should go him or Smith, might need to do a bit of research. Martin didn't really play the 2nd game as he got injured but I didn't watch close enough to see if he was in the mid. In the 1st game where they whopped the hell out of the cats he only got 12 touches so I don't really think his a full time mid out of those numbers, think his only part time. But something I will let you know he is very inconsient with he scores compared to Smith his last two years he has been injured a lot but hoping he can go back to his 2014 form both as an Essendon fan and in SC terms. So i'm starting to reconsider who to go for but just want to hear from other people what they think.
This may help a little on Martin but make your own mind up.

I have been tracking him since his early draft and think if the coaches give him more mid time which I believe they will this year as they build to the future he will show something.
Also think with Hall out for the first 2 rounds he will be in the mids most of these games.
Speculative pick I know but if it does not work can always use a correctional trade Rd 3.
Martin scored 72 SC points in JLT1 from 70% TOG and in JLT 30 SC Points from 30% TOG but went off as precaution. Was playing mainly in the mids here early though as an indication.

I think I have come to a final decison. So the answers to the 4 questions that I asked are

1. Hurley
2. Smith
3. Heeney/Billings

With downgrading Heeney to Billings that leaves me with 38.5k left of cash but I'm unsure on what to use it on? Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks.

I'd probably just bank it for now, under 50k is reasonable to have leftover.

There are 2 alternatives:
L. Murphy (102k)
O'Connor (D/M) (123k)

Would go O'Connor out of those two myself.

DunnyBrush

Watson is named as emergency.
Get Thomas Cole in, he will play in a few weeks.

Just came back from the bomber game and, my gosh, that was intense. Well at least we didn't go Murphy, O'Connor is it.

Round Score: 2180
Rank: 39520

Round 1 Review:

Not a great start to 2018... Finshing 39520 but not time to panic just yet. Most of the onfield rookies did bad. Doedee really the only good rookie and Murray. Lot of my bench rookies did good, eg. Kelly, Holman, Finlayson. Naughton did very bad, as well as Venables. Now my plan isn't to change the rookies on field and move them to bench as I believe they deserve a 2nd chance and some players that did good on the bench such as Kelly might go down when Danger comes in next week, will need to keep an eye on that. I stuffed up my captian loop hole twice, on Thursday I forgot to put the loophole on Cripps and on Friday forgot to put it on Laird but when with Mitchell and turned out the best, just my luck. A few concers I have going into round 2 is the Bont, will need to keep an eye on him and see how he performs, if he pulls up another 60 or 70, then I might start panicing.

Round 2 Plan:

As I said, I will keep the same rookies on field as I believe they can pick it up. Based on trades, I was thinking Abblet to Martin but might going to keep him but if he doesn't travel next week, then I might need to pull out that trade. This week since I was one down rookie in defence and couldn't find one and as I want to make money, I decided to do Keeffe to Zac Guthrie and that leaves me with 98.1k left to due to correction trades next week if needed, other then that I believe the team can bounce back, this week just tell me what you think on my trade. Also going to keep an eye on Bonner and English.
