Hawkers 2k18 (Going for the top 1k hattrick)

The time of year where we have nothing better to do other than to shed a tear about the lack of footy and make a supercoach side to try and counter that :'(

Just a few thoughts:

- In love with these 4 backline premiums atm, tempting to put Hanley in there but cant think to drop one of those 4
- Titch the #1 lock in all supercoach <3
- No Danger is a tad dangerous but no point throwing 720k around with the ablett effect
- Couldnt bare to watch Cripps go bang for a 120 season and miss its, its guaranteed to happen soon. Have to lock the 530k in.
- Tempted by Grundy but these rucks are at 40 and 50 percent ownerships for a reason
- Cant really see myself picking any forwards other than these 3, its boring but its the way it is.
- Christensen my only mid pricer in the whole team and im not overly convinced, but if he's fit its hard to pass.

This is my very first look at supercoach this year, just whipped this up in the last 15 mins. Documenting how your team changes over time and preseason is always fun but of course would love some initial thoughts or obvious errors made already ;)

Would rethink the Danger selection. Ablett won't impact him at all, the bloke scored 150 as a key forward with one leg last year ;)

You think i'd forget that after it was against us after Roughy flowered him up... ;)

Last year was his best season yet, and that included a very slow start where he dropped into the 550-600k region (Slow still being 114 pver the first 8 mind you ahaha, decent for anyone else) With Ablett there and the chance of that happening again, plus some decent young mid premos that should take the next step i dont really see a positive of starting with him

If he starts the year off averaging 130s, he'll stay expensive for a while, and you'd be well behind those who did start him.

Of course if he averages only (;D) 115 odd, you'll be well off.

Nice team mate, it's strong but has one glaring exemption, Danger, as other peeps have mentioned. You've calculated the risk so it's on your shoulders. Best of luck.

If there has ever been a season not to start Danger it is this one. Think he will average 120-125 which means his price will drop and although he may still be the number 1 player in supercoach if not starting him allows you to bolster up other lines (which it has) then I think it is worth while.

Defence is perfect. I think Hibberd will do better than 2 of the 4 premiums however ;).

Midfield still has 4 captain options plus Cripps who could do anything. Not bad at all.

Standard set up in the rucks. Nic Nat has had a very interupted preseason however so be careful.

Forward line is good. Top 3 forwards potentially with Bundy who has been killing it in the preseason.

This team is very similar to what mine would be if I wasn't starting Danger and I like it.

I downgraded Greene to Rioli. Forwards look Dangerous this year, feel like picking top 6 from the start is going to be very difficult with a lot of break out contenders, new roles and a few trades between clubs etc. There also seems to be a decent chunk of rookies and with Bundy tearing it up and Rioli's history also i feel like using the fwd line to generate cash and sit and wait to see who performs could be the one...

But on the huge upside from this its allowed me to go NicNat/Cripps both injury prone up to Jacobs/Danger which makes me waaaaayyyyy less nervous.

Thoughts on that?

I have legit done 48 back flips, 33 twists and a few somersaults on this team and some how it isnt that far off my original post in this thread... Im very surprised but im gonna take that as a positive. Finally can sit here and look at it while feeling comfortable in not hitting the trade button so its a nice relief. Squeezed in 4 premium rookie prices so have decent wriggle room come the round 1 teams on thursday as well :)

What are your thoughts lads, better?

This is just my opinion but I always believe that you need 2 prem rucks to the start the year and with Nicnat maybe in line for RD1 or early in the year just don't think Lycett will play. Sicily is a gamble but could work out so I would watch out for him over the weekend but other then that nice team, just need to watch the rooks over the weekend.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Lycett pick either. Can see him burning a lot of coaches in the first month or so.

Also agree, although it makes all the other lines look really strong if he plays round 1 then gets dropped you will need to burn two trades.
