What could possibly be the final piece of the premiership puzzle, Michael Hurley has also joined Go Pack Yourself for season 2017, filling in the last spot in defence.

In some huge breaking news, Blues captain Marc Murphy has just joined the GPY list. This could not have come at a better time after the injury to Jared Polec on the weekend. We believe that Marc will add the desired leadership, communication skills, and top bantz that GPY has been sorely missing so far this year.

Also his wife is kinda hot.

Rumours have been floating about regarding the futures of GPY Platinum players in Matty Boyd and Lachie Hunter. Naturally, we decided to have a nice friendly chat with them, to discuss where they thought their careers were heading, and if there was any truth to these rumours.

Interviewer: Matty, Lachie, thank you for joining us today, we really appreciate it. And might I just say, what a lovely day it is?

Lachie: It smells like daisies.

Matty: Just get to the point.

Interviewer: Well then, we'll start with you Matty. It's been no secret that your form has dropped off quite significantly this year, after showing no signs of slowing down last year. Is there a reason for that?

Matty: Look, it's not just about how I am going from an individual standpoint, it's about the team. As long as I'm contributing to the team's success, then I'd say I am doing my job just fine.

Interviewer: But you have been shower. Your team has been shower. What do you have to say to that?

Matty: Your face is shower.

Interviewer: Fair enough. Have you heard the rumours about you potentially being moved on from GPY in the next couple of weeks, providing that you aren't able to regain your form?

Matty: As a senior player, you know you have to keep doing your bit to stay in the team, that's no secret. I highly doubt they'd be cutting their platinum defender from their list mid-season though *laughs nervously*

Interviewer: *smiles*

Interviewer: Ok then, what about you Lachie? You have also dropped off quite a bit after a breakout season last year. Do you think that you struggle due to the team struggling, or is it something else?

Lachie: I'm glad you asked me that Mr Interviewer Man. Now, at the start of the year I was chatting with Libba. We had been talking about his Ashes hundred for quite a while, but eventually I changed the subject to this season, and how we would be going about things. Libba said that he'd just get the ball all the time and give it to me, so the plan was simple enough. Unfortunately, it just hasn't come through as planned. I honestly can't for the life of me see where things went wrong. It seemed foolproof at the time!

Interviewer: Are you saying that you are incapable of winning your own ball then Lachie?

Lachie: I'm glad you asked me that Mr Interviewer Man. The short answer, is probably. The long one, however, is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmaybe.

Interviewer: Ummm, ok. Do you think there is a chance you will be cut from the GPY list before the season ends?

Lachie: I'm glad you asked me that Mr Interviewer Man. You see, Mr Jared was walking around like he was top shower, like he was special, if you will. And wouldn't you know it, he pinged his hammy the other day, hahaha. I've been pointing and laughing at him every time I see him, it's just classic Mr Jared.

Interviewer: You didn't answer the question Lachie.

Lachie: Yes.

Interviewer: Yes...what?

Lachie: Yes, I am on the GPY list.

Interviewer: Thank you both for your time.

Lachie: Do I get a lollie now?

Matty: Shut up Lachie and do your homework.

In what can only be described as a complete oversight from the rest of the competition, and, quite frankly, perhaps even a lack of competence, Tigers captain and Brownlow Medal winner Trent Cotchin has now just joined the GPY crew, at an extremely low price. Clearly, he has seen the potential of our list and was willing to accept a lower salary in the hunt for premiership glory.

Elite defender Kade Simpson has recently joined GPY to help out in defence, after seeing our struggles in that last defensive post in recent weeks. He did not come freely though, with several GPY players needing to be moved on in order to fit Kade into the cap.

We spoke to Head of Recruiting Lord Farquaad this morning, and have taken out a few quotes from him to present with you all.

This was much like the Boyd deal, in which some players were found to be expendable for the greater good of Go Pack Yourself.

As you know, Boyd ddin't work out quite as well as planned. However, we are confident that Kade will give a bigger return on investment for us, and bring us into the top 4 calculations.

With the auction madness that occurred this week, some tough decisions needed to be made. There were rumours a few weeks ago that Lachie Hunter, who was one of the elite midfielders in the comp last year, would be traded away in order to bring in other better midfielders. Yesterday, that is exactly what happened. We do appreciate how committed Lachie was to GPY, but, while he seemed to have picked up a bit in form, it simply wasn't enough.

It was a great day for GPY yesterday though, bringing in star key forward Tom J Lynch, who will be a huge addition to this week's team, and also further strengthening the midfield line, with Lachie Whitfield and Dyson Heppell also joining the club. These new additions should not only increase the scoring power of our team, but also the consistency, especially after last week's effort.

So, a big welcome for Lachie, Dyson, and Tommy J!
