Step one: Check how many points you are away from first place. Step two: Divide that by 9. Step three: Pick the best captains choice OR go for a wild POD, depending on how big that number is. For those new to the forums, each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week.

The facts & thoughts:

J.P. Kennedy
Last 3: 118, 102, 112 (111 avg)
Last 3 against Melbourne: 88, 136, 103 (109 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 102, 96, 139 (112 avg)

With no loopholes this week, we need to get it right from the start. The fact that JPK is pumping out consistent tons makes him a great option to look at. However, Melbourne are one of his worse teams to play so maybe look elsewhere for a big score. Prediction - 100

Parker
Last 3: 100, 83, 108 (97 avg)
Last 3 against Melbourne: 140, 120, 110 (123 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 83, 95, 88 (89 avg)

Luke Parker loves playing the Dees but are you willing to take the punt with his form this year? Prediction - 105

Bontempelli
Last 3: 134, 94, 97 (108 avg)
Last 3 against West Coast: 112, 93, 125 (110 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 134, 94, 103 (110 avg)

The Bont is back! Well, he had a good game - his first score above 103 since Round 8. He's also good against the Eagles so you can consider him but I wouldn't. Prediction - 100

Ablett
Last 3: 91, 153, 117 (120 avg)
Last 3 against North: 162, 91, 119 (124 avg)
Last 3 at Metricon: 91, 117, 120 (109 avg)

Could it be that GAJ took last week off so his 300th could be against his whipping boys, the Roos? He scored a massive 162 against them earlier this year which really started his resurgence to elite form. Absolutely must consider him this week. Prediction - 135

Dangerfield
Last 3: 134, 116, 131 (127 avg)
Last 3 against GWS: 108, 75, 110 (98 avg)
Last 3 at Showgrounds: 110, 60, 141 (104 avg)

Danger's form is elite although he's so much better at home than away. This week, he's playing in Sydney's west, which he's still good at, against the Giants in a blockbuster. I expect him to try to win it on his own (if Joel doesn't get up) but I'm a bit concerned that he might be pooped after last week. Prediction - 125

D. Martin
Last 3: 96, 100, 164 (120 avg)
Last 3 against Port: 99, 114, 96 (103 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 107, 99, 116 (107 avg)

Dusty's here because he's good enough this year to always get a mention. Not great against Port though. Prediction - 105

Merrett
Last 3: 120, 151, 106 (126 avg)
Last 3 against Brisbane: 140, 130, 85 (118 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 151, 126, 108 (128 avg)

Zerrett is in great form, loves it under the roof, and loves playing the Lions. Everything looks good. Prediction - 135

Rockliff
Last 3: 96, 74, 95 (88 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 123, 179, 125 (142 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 124, 106, 127 (119 avg)

I really, really, really want to go Rocky this week but he still doesn't look 100%. He loves playing the Bombers and we all know he's had some huge scores at Etihad before. Still have to pass for this week at least. Prediction - 105

Zorko
Last 3: 45, 157, 131 (111 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 108, 102, 53 (88 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 157, 117, 100 (125 avg)

Zorko proved last week that he's very, very taggable. This should be a concern but I don't think Essendon will go to him. Too risky to go with unless you need a POD but I think he bounces back quickly. Prediction - 115

S. Martin
Last 3: 104, 69, 120 (98 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 121, 130, 98 (116 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 121, 126, 102 (116 avg)

Big Stef loves playing the Bombers and will be great again this week. Prediction - 120

T. Mitchell
Last 3: 117, 141, 118 (125 avg)
Last 3 against Collingwood: 177, 132, 138 (149 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 141, 177, 136 (151 avg)

Remember that 177? You should, it was only five games ago for Tommy. He's back against his favourite team to play, the Pies, and he should be a lock for your captaincy. Prediction - 140

Pendlebury
Last 3: 117, 126, 112 (118 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 144, 107, 152 (134 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 117, 126, 125 (123 avg)

Pendles loves the Hawks almost as much as Mitchell loves the Pies. He'll also be huge this weekend and is in great form this season. Prediction - 135

Treloar
Last 3: 122, 116, 117 (118 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 126, 126, 108 (120 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 122, 116, 109 (116 avg)

Treloar's also great against the Hawks but doesn't look quite as amazing when stacked up against his team mate. Prediction - 125

Sidebottom
Last 3: 124, 133, 127 (128 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 109, 117, 106 (111 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 124, 133, 139 (132 avg)

Sidebottom's great form continues and now he plays the Hawks who he consistently tons up against. Should be yet another good score for those few coaches that have him. Prediction - 125

LAHUG'S ROUGHIE OF THE WEEK!

In this segment, I'll talk about someone that, because of stats and/or gut feeling, I think will go huge this week. It'll usually be somebody that you wouldn't usually give the C to but, if you have him and are feeling brave, might be worth a look.

Congratulations if you got this guy. I'm probably a few weeks late to this bandwagon but a guy with five straight tons may just be a great POD, considering I don't see anyone in the top 100 making him captain any time soon. Gutsy prediction - 135

Obviously poor in his 250th, but great form before that. Averages 118 in all five, 132 if you exclude his 250th.

Fielded Greenwood over him based on current form and in the end didn't matter haha
