Jake Spencer

For Gawn owners we will probably find out today how long he is out after he visits the surgeon but it is looking like 10 weeks maybe more so to me that means Jake Spencer will be No1 ruck for that time or will he ? is there anybody else. His scores in JLT series are not to bad sharing the ruck with Gawn

Feb 18TH  SC score 70 TOG 48%
Feb 25th   SC score 34 TOG 52%
Mar  9th    SC score 81 TOG 62%

At 236K all going well he will get 8 price increases so if he is named the lone replacement is he worth a punt or Witts at about 60k dearer a better option ?

PS silly me was meant to post in players and trades in SC  ::)

Me personally i stay away from him with a 50ft poll
Just because he is solo, his tap work isnt great and he will be next to useless around the ground
But in saying that they have this King kid, and a rookie so you never know he could be good for a 75 avg
Think Witts is still the better option though

edit: Mitch King is injured, so its a 18 year old stick, solo Watts ruck or Spencer with Watts assisiting

Gawn just said Spencer would cover him, so there's that. Could be an ok pick, but both Witts and Preuss will probably equal or beat him you'd think

This! My byes are pretty cooked at the moment (RD13 dominance of premiums). If i like what i see from him, will be tempted to downgrade sandi to him. Sounds silly, but i don't see sandilands as a part of my final team. Can see spencer getting to 400k so worth it for mine. Saying that, hope spencer scores 30 this week so i can hold sandilands an extra week.

Would rather just hang onto Sandi till his bye and then upgrade him to Grundy/Martin.

Downgrading him to Spencer is just burning another trade and you will need yet another trade to upgrade him.

Decent midfield around him helps...but too risky imo. You'd really want him to average 90s to make cash quicker, and that probably won't happen.

Rucks are just scoring so far overs in the first few games of the season. As the sole ruck I wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 90. If I wasn't already using a trade this week to bring in Newman Goldy ---> Spencer and O'Meara/Taranto ---> Macrae/Riewoldt would be so goddamn tempting.

As it is though I'll probably just bring in Martin and save the extra trade. My balls tingle at the prospect of big Jakey going ba-nah-nahs as a huge POD though
