Def: S.Docherty, H.Shaw, R.Laird, M.Hibberd, M.Scharenberg, J.Berry (T.Stewart, L.Ryan)

Mid: P.Dangerfield, S.Pendlebury, R.Sloane, N.Fyfe, D.Beams, D.Swallow, D.Myers, S.Pepper-Powell (J.Graham, J.Barrett, S.Bolton)

Ruck: M.Gawn, B.Grundy (S.Darcy)

Fwd: L.Dahlhaus, T.Lynch (GC), P.Ryder, H.McCluggage, J.Bowes, J.Sympkin (J.Pickett, B.Eddy)

Rookies are obviously changeable though I have allowed money for expensive rookies that will play. Ryder/Roughead is a toss up at this point. In the mids I could go any two of Pendles/Treloar/Sloane/Hanners/Bont/Parker to go along with Danger and Fyfe.

I like pendles and Bont... unsure about hibberd though, didn't average above 90 many times from memory

crowls

Good solid team there DMac.
Strong Backline prems - Hibberd should at least get back to 90+ and make for keeper status.
I don't see Sloane as a Super Prem and Beams is a ?? but plenty of depth on mid line.
Grundy is logical to continue his improvement and average over 100 this year.   For me I would take Sandy and save the cash.     Just as valid as option as Goldstein.
Really like your forward line as T Lynch is a unique key forward that will continue to play and score well this year. Only KPF I would consider.   Strong fwd rookies as well.

Gigantor

I really want to start Lynch as a bit of a POD but having him and Ryder could mean a donut in round 9 when they both have the early bye after the China game

GoLions

Team looks good, nice balance on all lines. As mentioned by crowls, would consider Sandi over Grundy just in case Goldy kills Grundy (which I'm expecting myself).

Peter

Having 2 Round 9'ers is not an issue as you have 28 others and you only need 22. Also gives reasonable advantage for Rounds 11 and 13 where most bye players are.

Why should Hibberd get 'back' to 90+? He doesn't have a career average of 90 to get back to anyway? I can't see him increasing his career average to 90's or becoming a top 6 defender.

Depending how he is used at Melbourne every chance of getting 90-95 average.    Prime football years, physically and mentally refreshed, team who will play finals.     Strong probability of 90+.     Personally I am likely to go with others at this stage myself.  But certainly a reasonable option especially at 400k

Yeah, I'm with DCAK, I'll be avoiding at this stage unless he shows 90-100+ potential in JLT.  Awkward price and don't think he'll get to top 6/10, which means he's a D7 or another trade down the track.

Have been playing around a bit and will probably stick with this til pre season, there is a few 50/50 calls througout the team Im still deciding between. Any feedback appreciated, all rationales below too.

Have tried to avoid mid price options like Sandi, R.Murphy, M.Murphy, Beams and Roughead for now as I think at their prices they arent worth it unless the become keepers. Beams the one Im most likely to get if he looks good in pre season.

DEF - S.Docherty, H.Shaw, R.Laird, L.Keefe, M.Scharenberg, A.Witherden (L.Ryan, T.Stewert)

Docherty - Locked in at D1, can see him being the top scoring defender this year. Even worst case he is still top 5 and others pick him up only slightly cheaper.

Shaw - Finished poorly last year but was comfortably the top scoring defneder most of last year, a lock to be top 5 defenders again, seems to be past his days of missing games. May swap to Adams if I need the extra 50k.

Laird - Training to play more wing, can only see him improving more if he can get rid of the odd stinker. Locked in.

Keefe/Scharenberg- If fit and named round 1 both locked as mature aged cheapies.

Witherden/Stewert/Ryan - Very much interchangable depending on preseason and round 1 teams but have heard good things about all these guys. Witherden to make an early debut, Stewert a mature ager.

MIDS - P.Dangerfield, S.Pendlebury, R.Sloane, M.Bontempelli, N.Fyfe, D.Swallow, J.Bowes, D.Myers (S.Pepper-Powell, J.Barret, J.Graham)

Dangerfield - Locked, likely top scorer and captauns option all year.

Pendlebury - A top mid scorer 6 or 7 years running, rarely ever missed a game, VC/C option, locked with Danger. Played first 5 games last year with broken ribs or would have averaged even higher.

Sloane - Should continue to be Adelaides main man, could see him lifting another couple of points this year.

Bontempelli - At some stage in the next few years could well take over as the best player in the comp. A few question marks this year, could get more attention from taggers, no third man up which he got a few points a game from last year, but the most natural improvement left of any of the top mids. Sloane and Bont not locked yet, also looking at Parker, Treloar and Hannebery at M3-4.

Fyfe - Locked assuming fit.

Swallow - Big question mark on fitness, no question on picking him if fit.

Myers - Locked if playing round 1.

Bowes - Mid/Fwd link, talented youngster should see games early.

Pepper-Powell, Barret, Graham - None of them locked but hearing good things about all at this stage. About 12 players I will look at in pre season though.

RUCKS - M.Gawn, B.Grundy (L.Strnadica)

Gawn - Locked, VC/C option with Danger and Pendles.

Grundy - Between him and Goldy with Sandi currently injured. Can ovrtake Goldstein , but may or may not do it this year.

FWD - L.Dahlhaus, J.Macrae, T.Lynch(GC), W.Hoskin-Elliot, J.Stewert, J.Pickett (S.Bolton, B.Eddy)

Dahlhaus - First icked forward, locked in.

J.Macrae - Not completely sold on Macrae at this point, but not a great list of forward options this year, is young and will play lots of mid time.

T.Lynch - Even though he is a key forward locking him in at this point, doesnt score from just goals, new captain of his club, and should only get better delivery this year. Expecting a huge year from Lynch.

Hoskin-Elliot, Stewert, Pickett - All players with a few years in the system that should get greater opportunity at new clubs and all rookie priced. Most sceptic on Stewerts scoring ability.

Bolton , Eddy - Both a watch, Eddy mature aged and should get opportunity, Bolton could easy be swapped out, so could Pickkett and Stewert if better options come up in pre season.

enzedder

Great mate...could see myself picking that team except Grundy.
Solid picks everywhere.

Glenmaggie

Very persuasive! I like the team a lot. My concern would be Lynch, I am always sceptical of key forwards. Maybe one short in the mids like a JPK or Hanners. Love the team though, good luck

Ringo

Great team to sit on as you said. Couple of players I would not pick but we all can not have identical teams.   ;)

Can not see Witherden starting rd 1 though.

Money Shot

If you could get Goldy over Grundy I would.

Apart from that it's a pretty good team.

dmac07

Had a bit of a mess around with it and came up with a little something different as below. Obviously the forward line could be an issue but otherwise really like the team like this. If one of the mid rookies jumps out of the back I can switch Adams back and play the mid rookie. But at the moment playing Vickers-Willis or Stewert looks preferable to a mid rookie. One of those defensive rookies should become a mid premoum by putting Adams back by the half way mark of the uear.

Def - Shaw, Laird, Scharenberg, Hamptom, Vickers-Willis, Stewert (Hibberd D/M, Guthrie)

Mid - Danger, Pendles, Hannebery, Parker, Bont, Fyfe, T.Adams (D/M), D.Swallow (Powell-Pepper, Miles (M/F), J.Barrett)

Ruck - Gawn, Grundy (Strnadica R/F)

Fwd - Dahl, Lynch (GC), Hoskin-Elliot, Bowes, A.Black, Pickett (Cameron, Eddy)
