Interested in experts views on my AF team:

Shaw, Docherty, Hibberd, Rooks - Hampton, Keefe, Newman, V-W, Ryan

Danger, Neale, Coniglio, Wines, Fyfe, Rooks - McGrath, Brodie, Myers, SPP, Foote

Gawn, Grundy, Buzza, Strnadica

Macrae, Franklin, Miller, Rooks - McLuggage, Bowes, Lovell, Pickett, Balic

Balance left $27,000 to cover different rookies that are there to hold at the moment.

By my calculations, 13 keepers.

Questions - Should I switch Miller to Ryder?
                 - Any better ideas overall?

I like the structure. Guns and rooks. Though having a bit more coin left over to switch your rookies come round one would be helpful.

Miller is and up and coming gun. Ryder may not get the sole ruck, that will limit his output. Hardly any mid pricers in your team. Great job.

Peter

Thanks
A couple of changes after more research:

T Adams for Shaw - as more likely to score consistent points
Marchbank & Thurlow for Newman & Hampton as more likely to get game time, though mid-pricers
Tmitch for Neale as will be No 1 mid and considerably cheaper for similar output
O'Meara for McGrath as more likely to play, if fit
Martin for Grundy as believe Martin will come good and considerably cheaper for similar scoring
Ryder for Miller as will be No 1 ruck at Port and likely to score similar for cheaper price

Any further suggedtions

Peter

Final draft before JLT series:

Docherty, Simpson, Laird, Marchebank, Hampton, Keefe, (Newman, V-W)

Dangerfield, Neale, TMitchell, Wines, DSwallow, Myers, P-P (Barrett, Pickett)

Goldy, Martin (Strndica, Buzza)

Macrae, Franklin, Ryder, McLuggage, WH-E, McCarthy (Eddy, McKay)

Neale - first 11 games - 7 at home, 2 at MCG, 2 at AO
Mitchell - number one MF at Hawks
Wines - number one Mf at Port and finished 2016 brilliantly
Ryder - should be number one at Port and undervalued and could be F6 anyway
Martin has easy first 8 games

IMO all other rookies or low cost players will play R1, so will immediately be increasing in value.

Thoughts from the experts?

Peter

Add Fyfe to my midfield too

rweeks

Def: Don't think Hampton will play Rd 1. Keefe is a very low scorer. Look at Luke Ryan from Freo (mature aged pick from Coburg, should play Rd 1)
Mids: Like the Neale pick as I've got him as well. (Averaged 109 anyway last year with Fyfe playing) Wines is a unique selection.
Rucks: Pretty strong (I've gone Gawn and Grundy)
Fwds: You might need Heeney especially if he gets his midfield minutes....

7/10

My comments:

Not an expert but happy to comment. (we all just put in our opinions)

Mitchell - just a little concerned he will be tagged at Hawks with the Departure of Sam Mitchell and Jordan Lewis. Not sure how he handles it as he would not have attracted one at Swans.

Although Keeffe will not be a high scorer he will more than likely play every game so adequate cover when other rookies increase in value. Read a report he was training with forwards which is interesting but that was his position when he first came to Pies.

Unique pick in Wines and Neale not so unique.

Prepare for the roller Coaster ride with Buddy but a sound pick.

From a Brisbane perspective for you: Barrett is on our rookie list and there is no vacancy on Senior list at the moment, Watch to see if he is promoted though with long term injuries that may occur.
Slight concern with Stef with Archie Smith training with forwards but surely we will not go down the 2 ruck road this season.

I am one of the few that are wary of Heeney as I am not 100% sure he will completely take up Mitchells role with Lloyd and Mills also likely to be spending time through midfield.

Peter

Thanks for advices - Ryan recovering from shoulder i jury, so if he plays round 1, then he will be in.

Franklin's stats last season were pretty consistent, so will run with him.

Thanks for note re Barrett

Good luck with all teams

he added fyfe in the comment below :P

Yeah pretty nice team, gone with proven guns and no point commenting about rookies atm.
Personally dont like the Martin pick due to the reason Ringo mentioned above, but reward is there if Brisbane choose not to play Smith, which surly is unlikley as they would love to devope a young ruck who showed promise given where their team sits atm.
Neales the other one i dont think is really worth the risk with so many other great guys with less risk available, most likley be fine but id go someone like trelour instead and see how neale goes in the first few weeks. Probably not a huge fan of Ryder but he is probably underpriced, just dont see him being a finisher, which is less important in AF due to alot of trades anyway :P

Nice team though!
