Hi All

Can anyone recommend a good CCTV home security camera system.  I have been looking at HikVision and Zmodo so far but open to other brands.

Needs to have a hub where I can connect multiple cameras (min 2, but potentially up to 4).
Needs to store the data either locally or to the cloud (but no subscription service)
Either WIFI or hard-wired is not an issue.  If hardwired needs to be PoE
Needs to have a free app or desktop application so I can monitor cameras remotely.

Thanks for the over-whelming responses everyone  8)

I have gone with the Hikvision 8 channel HD NVR with 2 x 4MB dome cameras.

Hikvision 8 channel HD NVR with 2 x 4MB dome cameras is the set up I've got in Ele's bathroom. It works pretty well remotely but make sure you don't put it too close to places that may steam up, it becomes hard to see sometimes.

Also now I know why he's called Elephants.

They will be mounted outside so I dont have to worry about steam issues.
