As a failed first year DT particpant in 2008 due to not knowing how valuable trades are late in the season, the question i pose to the more experienced DT'ers is that, at what injury weekly time duration should i consider to trade off a player, as opposed to benching them for a period of time to reserve trades.... (Help?)

And thats my two cents..

it all depends on;

1. who you have as replacement on the bench.  if the replacement is scoring well then you may be able to hold onto an injured player longer than otherwise

2. how many trades you have.  eg, i kept cox last year throughout his injuries because i wanted him in the end and didn't have enough trades to sell and then by him again.

3. How much the player is worth.  If the player has had some above average performances prior to the injury then he might be good value to trade.

4. do you want to try to win your league or the whole comp.  Ie, when i put cox on the bench i was playing weaker players in my league and so was not so concerned. we have a $4k kitty so to me the league wins were more important.

5. Is there a good value player to replace your injured person.  If a player is likely to rise significantly in value and you think he would be a suitable replacement for your injured person then why not.  Could be good timing.

mm, if its like a ablett player that gets injured for 3 weeks, i may get rid of him for bartel strait away, beacause nobody from the bench can replace him, i would hold a solid on the bench for 2 weeks , maybe 3 max.
