Doesn't Hickey start most seasons well then get injured?

The chances of him playing 20 games and scoring well regularly would have to be low

Yes and I can't understand why anyone is even thinking about him... absolute textbook points chasing, gets 150 in the first round and suddenly everyone forgets that the last 4 years he's played 10, 12,6 and 11 games at an average of 58, 58, 88 and 69. Not a keeper, not durable, and not someone to trade in!

I guess we are all looking for a breakout. Lone rucks (if he becomes one) can score very well and he provides ruck cover in a season where nobody thought they'd have any. I understand the sentiment in picking him especially for those playing for leagues.

ants

if he scores another tonne this week i will seriously consider him in the forward line! wish he was up against a decent ruck this week so i can get a better guage of where he is at! could be fools gold!!!

I reckon we might see a decline in ruck scoring with the drop off in stoppages. Less hit out opprtunities means less points. The delibrate out of bounds rules and stricter interpretation of holding the ball will see this.

Wonder if that brings Blicavs into some serious consideration?

Hey Jfitty that's spot on I reckon.

Guys like Martin, NN and Blicavs who do a lot of contested ball could be the go. Keeping an eye on old blicavs that's for sure!

Have been discussing this all week...
Unfortunately like most i couldn't foresee the rule changes affecting the rucks so much. I started Goldy. Goldy generates most of his points through effective taps - which have almost halved now with less stoppages. Is this a reason for people to jump off Goldy now to save large cash loss or could he still be in the top 2 SC scoring rucks?

It will effect all rucks equally so all in same boat.  I am sure we have more worries with our team than to try and trade rucks who are still scoring reasonably. Goldy is still in top 3 rucks and would expect him to stay there.
