Backs: Shaw, Laird, Bartel, Longergan, Weitering,Dea (M. Brown, Hartley)
Mids: Fyfe, Dangerfield, Ablett, Rockcliff, Libba, B. Crouch, Mills, B. Kennedy (Menadue, Gresham, Davis)
Rucks: Goldstein, Lobbe (S.Michael or Grimley)
Forwards: Martin, Barlow, Hall, Wells, Kerridge, McCarthy (M. Adams, A. Mcd-Tip)

Going lobbe in the ruck to free up cash on other lines, due to not being that many rookie options, i have every intention of upgrading him once he makes some cash being the solo ruck.

Deciding whether to find some cash and get Buddy in instead of Hall. Just think he is a safer option with more runs on the board.

Strong team, Smashbox.

I ran with your Forward set-up for most of the pre-season, before re-structuring to two Forward premiums to get one more premo in my Midfield. But looking at it now, I'm jealous of your line (and your choice of 3 premos are the precise ones I would take).

Where I've put the extra cash is into M5 i.e. upgrading B. Crouch to Pendles (had to sacrifice D.Martin for that). But if Crouch's body remains durable and he scores as his potential suggests, that difference alone is going to give you 20 - 25 ppg over me. I'm obviously going with my gut, but looking at these two lines make me nervous, as I can see it rewarding you.

The thing that stands out as a clear red flag to me is Lobbe. You obviously have your reasons, but I think it's a mistake. You've sacrificed a premium R2 to sneak in Lonergan at D4, and I don't think it's going to pay off. The rejigging I'd recommend is this:

Downgrade Lonergan to Adams (Upgrade Lobbe to the premium R2 of your choice for set-and-forget)
Move Menadue onto the forward line and bring in Hewett onto your Mid bench

Rock-solid team though. Good luck for the season, mate.

I agree that Lobbe is an unusual pick. NAB was very bad considering the players he went up against. Lucky he didn't go up against Goldy , he might be looking for a different career. Get rid of him.

The defense looks fine but again I see lonergan. Had him initially but stayed away because his price is way too awkward. Lets say he does well and gets to about the $420-450k range. Are you going to keep him? You will be in a dilemma to keep or not.

Dea I know a lot of ppl have him in their squad but from whispers he isn't even in there best 22. That's what I been hearing.

Apart from that, pretty good.

Hey pal. I think lonergan, lobbe, crouch and libba are all risks. I would sell lonergan, crouch or libba and lobbe. Get a rookie defender in. Upgrade crouch/libba to a premo and hopefully have some cash left to upgrade lobbe to a set and forget style ruck. If not enough cash, shaw to houli them lobbe to gawn

Thanks guys, depending on rookies being named my team will most likely change.

I kno lobbe is a risk, but its more a stepping stone to a premo ruckman. And he is priced well below what he can achieve if he returns to his 2014 form.

Only 2 players in that team concern me: Bartel and Lobbe.

I just can't see Bartel playing every game, could be bias based off having him round 1 last year and him burning me, but he is even older now, and such comes the risk doesn't get any lower.

If you want to have a mid-price ruckman the only one really worth considering is Zac Smith. I had high hopes for Lobbe, but the way he lumbered around during the NAB was not pretty, not pretty at all.

Also if you're stuck on Michael vs. Grimley, go Grimley. He has better job security and is a DPP.

Backs: very good, reckon bartel will play close to 22 games though? Lonergan risk that could pay off. Rookies stock standard just wait

Mids: Strong besides i think you should only have one of either crouch or libba would try get another prem

Rucks: I don't think Lobbe will do that well but he has performaned before so who knows

Fwds: Strong just wait, good mix

Overall good strong team with some risk which is what you need, would fix a couple of things up in mids and ruck but overall very good!

Nice Looking Team mate. I have been looking through a lot of them to get some ideas. I have made my team in about 5 minutes but yours makes a lot of sense.

I have Bartel in my side as well but im not sure if I can see him playing all 22 games. I was also unsure on dusty. I went dalhaus instead but your team looks good
