Two days ago I would've said this team is perfection.

But now I think there are massive queries on Dea & Broad. Dea may start, but when Dempsey comes back he'll be the one to give way. And Broad is relying on injuries to force an opportunity. Having Mcdonald-Tippa as an option to swing with Brown is useful, but not enough.

What I've done with my team tonight - and I've got some serious heat for it! - is what I'd recommend to you:

Give up the 5 premo mids e.g. downgrade Pendles to Oliver.

Upgrade Dea to a D4 mid-pricer (I've opted for Sheridan)

And with the change upgrade Gawn to Goldy.

(Alternatively, go Pendles to Graham / Dea to Sheridan or Lonners / and keep the Martin - Gawn combo)

Now Cortez, don't flip me the link to your thread on Goldy, as the person you had the debate with was me!

But anyway... great team. I just worry you'll be playing with Brown at D6 with no bench cover. It will be a big pity as the rest is rock solid.

Good luck mate. Almost time now.

Cheers for the thoughts on it mate.
Yes i do remeber that debate haha
I have already removed Broad and will be going with either Ruggles or Collins from Freo.
The only reason i am ok with the defense i have is because i have AMT and Adams in the forward line that can cover as well as my backline bench.
I am quite confident with Withering and Dea and D4 and D5. What is your thinking towards no confidence in Dea keeping his spot? he is mature aged, a big body and hasv played well in NAB

I've been picking up bits here and there on the grapevine the past couple of weeks, noticing that Bomber fans seem split over whether he's in the best 22. The thinking is he's a place holder for Dempsey coming out with the ball off the half back. I don't know. Like you, I only noticed his impressive NAB displays.

Then the guys on Supercoach Coach released their podcast tonight, and they're pretty divided. Dea playing makes my life so much easier, and based on your confidence I've reinstated him, as he gives me the structure I want. I definitely think he'll start this weekend. The query is whether he plays well enough, and consistently enough, to keep his spot until the byes.

That being the case, don't you think it would be better to put Adams in place of Broad, and McCarthy next to Mcdonald-Tippa on the Forward bench. At least then you have two of the three D/Fs supporting your defence. You need them to cover Dea, not Brown.
