Just have to wait and see on Scooter, RD. I'll like him a lot if he can manage to be match fit before pre-season and have a reasonable NAB cup performance, but I've got a few back-up options in mind if he won't be able to get up.

Southstorm

This team is a version I've done in case Scott Selwood doesn't get up.

Had to move a lot of money around to get an extra 230k to complete the Selwood -> Parker upgrade. The backs look a lot worse without Shaw/McVeigh.

Martin doesn't look likely to be getting that many weeks so I've got him in over Bennell. Deeper research leads me to conclude that Greene isn't the messiah I initially thought him to be, so he's out for Merrett. Merrett is sort of a place holder at the moment for me.

Not really happy with this team

Money Shot

Team looks pretty good to me... What don't you like about it?

Southstorm

With this basic structure of 4-4-2-3 keepers in the lines, I can't afford all of the premiums I want in the backline and the forward line. If I go with a 4-3-2-3, I've only got 12 starting keepers. I'd be more willing to start another mid pricer over Parker/Selwood if Scott Selwood or O'Meara get up, but think the midfield is too weak otherwise.

Realistically, I don't see Libba or Crouch as keepers.

Think the team would be a lot better with Yeo > McVeigh and Merrett > Deledio even if it means Joel becomes Scott.

Southstorm

If Jed Anderson tears up the NAB, might swap him in for Merrett and spend the extra on better premiums.

Gigantor

Nothing wrong with a 12 keeper structure this year with guys like Libba and Crouch available.

I have a 12 structure but that includes Shaw, Pendles, Goldy and Lids so it looks good.

If a heap of quality cheap rookies are available rd1 it might allow you to go 13 but there nothing wrong with staying with 12

Gigantor

Also Wells, Myers and Harwood along with Libba and Crouch :)

Southstorm

Is this nuts or am I a genius?

I think this or a variation will be the final team I take into Round 1. Really happy with this structure.

Defence; I think Laird and Bartel are the only two premium defenders I'm really happy with right now. Thinking Shaw and Boyd will still be the top two for this year but I'm still suspicious that both of them will come backwards a bit from last year whereas I think Laird will slightly improve.
Cannon and Harwood could be anybody at this stage, still evaluating Sheridan, Lonergan and Seedsman for the spots but I think these two could be the safest bets.
Hartley and Brown should be right to start on the field, Ruggles and Adams on the bench. Hoping Adams gets the nod over K Collins and that Ruggles will be able to hold down a spot as small defender.

Mids: Nothing but the best at this stage. Very wary of Ablett however and he's (shockingly) probably the one who's most likely to be out of this team round 1 for somebody like Sidebottom or Shiel. Libba abd Brad too good to ignore, Mills on the field who's looking superb, Gresham, Polkinghorne and Petracca on the bench. Might as well start with Petracca.

Rucks: Goldy and bit of a POD in Gawn. Grimley on the bench.

Forwards: Arguably the weakest line for me at the moment. Barlow and Franklin as genuine prems. Looking for De Goey to have a bit of a breakout season, Wells to return to form. Solid rookies down here so should be able to upgrade very quickly. Had Martin but I got a bit turned off by his attitude on the last nab cup match and I have a feeling his father being deported will cause some distractions for him. I'm probably being overcautious all the same.

Thoughts? $103k left to play with.
