Calm down chief. I found 1 better/similar for cheaper

Gibbs is my first assumption. It depend show much we're talking in price, 10k? 20k? 50k?

I'd rather, Jones Griffen and Gibbs and they are all cheaper.

I reckon Griffen is the only one at that price who has a chance going 105

What are the thoughts on Gibbs? Fit?

2009 25 Games 107
2010 24 games 104
2011 24 games 103
2012 25 games 95
2013 25 games 95
2014 23 games 106
2015 10 games 82

Coming up 27yo and over 200 games at $444.6k BE 82 - worth considering or just not consistent enough?

I'd say he has a floor of 95 and I'd back him to average 100 this year. He's been working with Ed Curnow to build his running ability which is a positive, if he can get those contested numbers back up to where they were in 2014 he could be in for a really good year.

LOL

There is a myth with Gibbs that he doesn't win the contested ball. Last year he averaged 20.9 possessions per game, that was his lowest since year 2, but 9.80 of them were contested which is about 46%. He averaged more contested possessions per game then Rockliff, Martin, Mitch Robinson and Michael Barlow.

In 2014 he averaged 10.73 per game which is about a 43% rate, but it was more per game then Brad Crouch, Chris Judd, Lenny Hayes, Brent Moloney and Lachie Neale.

If you're wanting to fit a player in your team around that price, there are far better options/breakout contenders than mitch duncan.

Do tell - but I will already say I don't agree

Griffen, viney and wines (a little more expensive)

If you think duncan is a better breakout contender than all three of those then we'll have to agree to disagree.

I think the addition of Dangerfield will actually help Duncan. With both Danger and Jelwood in the guts Theres going to be a lot of outside ball to be had for the other Geelong midfielders. Duncan showed what he is capable of last year before his injury, he has a huge engine and is an attacking midfielder who reads the play well and transitions really quickly.
That being said I don't know that I have the cohunas to start him, you would have to be expecting him to be a keeper at 105-110+.

Marstar

Started on fire but only played a 1/3 of the game ... any report stating the reason?
