Gee it's been probably over two years since I've posted on FF, VCE and uni took its toll but it's good to be back!

SuperCoach is certainly a better format for watching a game of footy - e.g. best players on the ground. Takes better knowledge of footy IMO to nail SC than RDT and AF.

First attempt, I'm sure it'll change over the new 6 weeks but critique away please! ;D

Smith had two KO's last year that definitely cost his average, I think he'll rebound this year

Franklin's value cannot be ignored

Gibson is as solid as a rock.

I wanted Wines, but I thought it'd be better to lock in a big 4 in the MIDs.

Going Crowley over Parish purely because of game experience. Woosha also came out this week and said that he may not be solely used as a tagger and at 202k, I'm willing to take that risk (rather than 315k in RDT)

Lobbe without Ryder could be huuuge :o

Weak FWD, however, plenty of value in mid-pricers and I'm certain they'll all be in their respective best 22

Thought I'd say welcome back :)

Not sure I'm a fan of all the midpricers tbh, there's soooo many!

That's an expensive M8 to start with. I would downgrade Thomas (Wells to fwd) to a 117-123k mid rookie. Defence could afford a slight downgrade if that means gaining an extra premium forward. Overall, a good first team

Thanks mate! Good to be back ::)

Hmm there are a lot now that you mention it. I really don't like Anderson, so he's out. I don't trust Wells either.

Are there specific players you don't like? I wouldn't count the Essendon players as mid-pricers though, because there's not a lot of risk with players like Crowley, Bird, Simpkin and Polkinghorne

Are there are any 117-123k MID rookies that come to mind though? Seems we're all a bit light on with MID rookies this year :-\

I'm sure a couple will pop up for round 1. Jansen, Gore, Sumner, Phillips, Keays, Hibberd, Dunkley, Clarke & Cunningham probably your best bets at this stage

so after a month of extensive research, this is my team with 5 days until R1:

DEF: H. Shaw, A. Rance, J. Bartel, J. Weitering, M. Dea, M. Adams (M. Brown, M. Hartley)

MID: N. Fyfe, S. Pendlebury, G. Ablett, T. Rockliff, T. Liberatore, B. Crouch, C. Mills, C. Oliver (B. Macaffer, C. Menadue, C. Petracca)

RUC: S. Martin, N. Natanui (S. Grimley)

FWD: D. Martin, M. Barlow, A. Hall, D. Wells, B. Kennedy, S. Kerridge (W. Milera, A. McDonald-Tipungwuti)

Cash Left: $2k

Job security has played a big part of my rookie selection, been seeing a lot of teams with Davis, Gresham, Cox, Ruggles, Hewett etc - all of whom could be dropped to the reserves after a couple of price rises.

Had to have Rocky/Ablett combo and Libba/B Crouch are too cheap to ignore.

Hall's finish to 2015 was incredible and his start to 2016 is no different

Goldstein is just too expensive for my liking and the extra $80k was, I feel, well utilized

Well constructed team - Just need to finalise Rookies like all of us.  Not really sure on Oliver myself but that is personal opinion.
