Thanks for the feedback!  ;D

I've managed to squeeze Hall into F3 as requested by Sonnydark, rather than revert to the 5 premo midfield with Pendles that I had previously, but have since moved away from.

Keen on hanging on to Graham, so he stays.

Also moved away from Simpson as I felt the need for someone who could push their average upwards, despite the risk, and have gone with Laird. Gibson and Bartel are not certainties, I might tweak the defence a little prior to Thursday night, depending on cash I need for rookies.

Not 100% convinced on Hall, but he should get off to a big start at a considerably cheaper price. Might become Robinson.

Toyed with no Libba, but he remains in the side at this stage.
Hoping that 2/3 of he, Crouch & Graham can be keepers, M8 and M9.

If I am short of defence rookies, I'll look to either Harwood or Howe at D4.

Any thoughts, opinions?

I like Hall, think he is set to go big this year. I would look at changing Gibson, Rich is a bargain at his price for me. Rookies look correct, just not sure on Tucker. Like the side overall, especially the Graham selection. Could be a great choice. Good luck

Tucker is just a place-holder for the time being as I am unsure as to who will slot into that final rookie spot down back.
Gibson is probably the defender I am least happy with, he did have a strong NAB, but it is only NAB, and I did read somewhere that he may be forced to revert to a lock-down role if someone was to go down with injury. Rich, Hurn and even Brodie Smith are on the table as cheaper alternatives. That would leave me with a fair chunk of cash, which could come in handy for rookie selections, or would just be good to have on hand I suppose.

Really like this team (apart from Tucker... but he's just a place holder as you said).

Curious... for my own team... I currently only have one midfield mid-pricer (Libba). If you could only take one, and cash wasn't a factor, would it be Libba or Graham?

I'm following the crowd atm, but my gut is telling me Graham.

Here's what we ended up with:

Round 1
Score: 2213
Overall Ranking: 18,379

Round 2
Score: 2249
Overall Ranking: 6,045

Round 3 Trading Intentions:

Bartel to Jason Johannisen
As someone who I was not 100% convinced with, Jimmy Bartel has been underwhelming. Yet another head knock R1 was concerning. Bartel to JJ is the plan, with 5 games at Etihad on the trot still to come, the boat hasn't yet left on JJ as far as I can see. This is admittedly a sideways trade, but I think it is for the best as I believe JJ is now capable of a 100 average under the roof - where most of his games are.

Rockliff to Tom Papley
Very impressive again against the Blues, Papley is a must have before his huge price spike after this week, he shall slot in nicely on field in the forward line via as I shall swing Kerridge/Bennedy to my M8 position. I made my thoughts clear on another thread about Rocky, as an injured player with no pre-season and two underwhelming games - he has to go, regardless of his history. This trade also frees up plenty of cash going forward.

Future Trading Plans

Barlow
I had initially intended to trade him for Round 3, but I've since decided to hang on to Barlow in the hope he can come good. He also has no injury concerns like Bartel (concussion impact) and Rocky (calf). Surely Ross Lyon will wake up soon, if not, Barlow goes.

Gresham to Hartley
A bit of a complicated trade made possible by multiple DPP swings, I intend to trade Gresham to Hartley when Hartley hits the bubble before Round 4. I am hopeful that Gresh can get one last game this week to produce a quick cash injection - but if not I'll likely use him as a loophole this week before moving him on before Round 4.

As always, I value any feedback I can get! Please hit me up with your thoughts, whatever they may be  ;D

AaronKirk

Why trade Bartel?

He is basically playing a free roaming role and can IMO only improve after 2 average games. I would be holding him for now and not chasing the points from JJ.

I know Johannisen has had a great start to the season but it is fraught with danger chasing last weeks points for a player who is still not proven to be a keeper.

Don't make that trade man.

If you did want to bring JJ in here is my suggestion. If you wanted to trade an underwhelming premo out why not trade Barlow out for Papley (can then have either BKen or Papley as F6) and then trade Brown in defense to JJ if really wanted to bring him in.

Keep Rocky this week as a midfield loophole option and assess how he is. Apparently there is no tear so he could play this week or be right for next week.

fanTCfool

Won't be hanging on to Rocky now that he is ruled out for 2 weeks, I suppose Rocky to JJ is possible, but then I have no Papley.
Still unsure about Bartel, not a very happy owner but saving the trade could make me very happy later.
Might just have to ignore JJ's scores and hope Jimmy turns it around.

Maybe Gresham to JJ if Gresh is dropped?

AaronKirk

You also have to figure out whether you will be happy with the rookies you have on field and the rookies on the bench if you do those trades.

If you do JJ to Gresh what does your team look like? Who will be on field and who will be on the bench?

Glenmaggie

In principle i like both your trades. Bartel has to go. Think he will struggle this year. Rockliff also needs to go and papley is a must. Also when rockliff drops to 450 and we are seduced into buying him again, remember what he did to us last year  :'(.

Will leave you with about 500k not being utilized. I'd use that cash to bring in houli and shaw when he drops in price over the next couple of weeks. Jj will not be this cheap again this year. I'm holding barlow as well, think he'll come good. Good luck

Here's what I have after trading,
Gresham to Papley and
Rocky to JJ

Not finalsed, but looks pretty good IMO

The midfield has been weakened, but as I started the extra mid pricer it holds up alright.

Scores & Ranks

Round 12 Team

After trading George Hewett for Jansen, which should be my only trade for the week.

Yearly Trades:

Wells to Brand looking like a disaster. Brand saved me from a donut, but his 30 or so was not worth the trade as he's dropped now, and means I have to miss out on Collins this week!  >:(

If I do grab Collins, I'll have to field one of him, Tucker and Brand, which will likely just be he or Tucker. Not ideal, but could fill up the bank heading towards the byes.

Unsure who to field this week down forward, Petracca or Hall?
Would love any other feedback too  ;D

Ended up grabbing Tippett to cover Goldy last weekend, so far so good! By the sounds of it, it's possible I'll need him again this week with Nic Nat in some doubt.

Last thoughts, is Hall to Collins along with Hewett to Jansen ridiculous?

PICCOLLO

Id argue that dbj to collins is a sound trade for cash.  Then smith or hewett to rocklobster/gray

Jump on jansen next week?

If nicnat is out, perhaps consider an alternate trade, particularly if Tippa doesnt play.
