If you don't start with Goldy do you have plans in place to bring him in?

Yes. Planning on upgrading Lobbe to Goldy or the highest scoring ruck. Goldy no lock to be the best ruck although he would be the favourite. By starting with Lobbe it allows me to see who the best ruck is this year and bring that ruck in. Did the same thing with bringing in Goldy last year at round 10 when he was just 511k.

Better off picking off another rucking and starting goldy... his score of 40 was just as much of a fluke as his 220. Don't see either happening again. Will be a very tough upgrade from lobbe. Easier picking up Martin/Nicnat/Mummy (if fit) who may dip under 500k at points during the year.

Starting to get cold feet with regards to Lobbe. I still think he could be a great pick as a stepping stone to a keeper ruck but I do like the idea of having a set and forget combo to reduce stress levels.

So here's my latest team:

DEF: Laird, K Kolodjashnij, Bartel (MID), B Smith (MID), M Brown (FWD), K Collins (Hartley, Bonner)

MID: Pendlebury, Ablett, Rockliff, Wines, Liberatore, B Crouch, Gresham, Kerridge (MID), (Morabito, Mathieson, Hibberd (DEF))

RUC: Goldstein, Naitanui, (King (FWD))

FWD: D Martin (MID), Dahlhaus (MID), Barlow (MID), Z Merrett (MID), Petracca (MID), Kommer (Ahern (MID), Adams (DEF))

$49,400 in the bank.

I've avoided players that have had heavily interrupted pre-seasons such as McVeigh and Selwood. Planning on bringing them in as upgrade targets.

Thoughts on this team?

Ringo

Nice team and obviously no comments on Rookies as they are not set.

Nice structure. Only concern is what are you going to do if Nat or Goldy have say a 2 week injury.  Options of a DPP forward that will stay at F6 are there if you want to be safe and not cop a donut or waste a trade. May mean giving up one of your 4 starters though. I am using Sinclair at F4 who will be F6/7 when team complete depending on form.

Adopting same tactics with McVeigh and Selwood.

My thoughts with the ruck coverage are that I will trade in a player IF needed. So that would mean either trading out one of my rucks for another keeper ruck or trading out an underperforming fwd 'keeper' for the best ruc/fwd or being able to trade one rookie up and one rookie down to bring in the best ruc/fwd. I'm not comfortable with selecting a player as ruck coverage if I don't think they'll average enough to be a keeper. The only one I would consider from the start would be Tippett but I'm leaning towards not having any ruck coverage.
