Profile:

Rampe came from nowhere in 2013 to cement himself a position in the Swans backline, stepped up again in 2014, and after Malceski left at the end of the 2014 season, he improved yet again. He can play on any type of forward, whether it be someone like Jack Riewoldt, or a smaller player such as Monfries. His ability to intercept across that half-backline continues to improve, and his pace to run off half-back is also very good. He would be looking to improve yet again in 2016, and help the Swans to push for another flag.

Will need another decent jump in scores to be a viable option

16 scores under 70 last year (mainly due to lockdown roles)



Prediction:

I think Rampe will improve again in 2016, but don't think it will be enough. He still has so many really low scoring games, that I don't think those bigger games will be enough to bring that average high enough to be considered as a keeper in defence. Should be a good option in SC Draft, but I don't see him averaging any higher than around 87 or so, and there are quite a number of guys who should get that or more who are even cheaper. The only way he'd really be able to improve his average and become a keeper is if he gets given a lot less lockdown roles for the Swans, as he scores much better when he is able to play as that loose man in defence.
