Profile

Armitage was one of the surprise packets of 2015. At the conclusion of Round 10 he was averaging a whopping 117.1 but coaches remained cautious and his ownership never rose to great heights. This was somewhat justified given he ended up averaging 107 for the season but that still placed him in the top 12 fantasy scorers for the year. David's progression is similar to that of Jordan Lewis who appeared to have plateaued at a 90 odd average before bursting out to premium status. It remains to be seen whether Armitage can maintain those highs in the same way that Lewis has to this point. I think there's a good chance he can hold a 105+ average but there doesn't appear to be enough value in comparison to Rocky, GAJ and some others. One area he could improve is free kicks against having given away 34 last season which equates to around 5 points a game. I'd imagine most coaches will employ a wait and see approach with the view to pick him as an upgrade later in the year. However those who take the punt from the start could gain an advantage if he replicates his early season form of 2015.
